      I from Decatur! I live in Springfield now but still do alot of hunting in Macon, Shelby and Moultrie counties. There are excellent public land options in Moultrie and Shelby. The Army Corp of Engineers owns all the land around Lake Shelbyville and it's all huntable without any special permits. I have seen numerous good bucks out there. There is also a WMA outside Bethany that is excellent ground as well. All are within 30-40 minute drive of Decatur. Get in touch and I can even show you some spots out there.

      where at in IL are you from? I'll be up in Decatur area a ton this month. are you close to there? If so are there any decent public hunting areas?

    Married to a beautiful young lady who lets me hunt without too much grief. Personally I think it because she enjoys the quiet time at the cabin. She will sit in my buddy stand with me on occasion, but has never seen me send one through the cage. However, I do not think I will ever get her to pick up a bow. When Im not hunting I work for a Civil Engineering company doin CADDD and survey work. Im 28 and am the proud owner of an American Bulldog named Dawson ( Andre Dawson, Cubs, get it?). Im an avid Cubs, Bears (listen to the games on stand), Bulls, Blackhawks, Illini fan. Hobbies (other than the obvious) include BBQ, Im a co-founder of an award winning BBQ team called Smoke Bros BBQ, fishin, morel mushrooms, and beer.
