Sticksnstrings, thanks for your advice. Another senior member here gave me some excellent advice on my technique and it corrected the problem instantly. I'm now shooting 2" groupings at 20-30-40 yards. I'm not planning on shooting one that far but my site is a HHA Optimizer and I had to shoot it at 20 & 60 to site it in. I'm shooting the same groupings from elevated platforms also as well as sitting. I can't see what waiting a year is going to do. I've deer hunted for 40 years and shot hundreds of deer...I know Bowhunting will have its own set of challenges, but I ain't about to wait another year to face them.

Had a good buck come in and not offer a shot and got under me at 2yds and outlined me...Didn't blow and stomp, but seen something he didn't like and leaped back and eased out with out offer a shot. What's y'alls thoughts on getting back in there on him now and playing the wind...or...lay off for a few days?

I'm not sure why I've never looked at this forum haha. I'm from the Raleigh area, Fuquay to be precise but chances are, you've probably never heard of it. So far, the deer activity has been minimal on my side of town..white oaks are loaded but I guess they're only hitting them while I'm in school or at work. However, I've had a few friends already kill some nice bucks in the surrounding areas. Good luck

I don't know how many of you all have heard but, there have been 4 160+ bucks taken in NC so far. One possible to break the state record. 185-1/8 by compound and another by crossbow of rough score of 190. Looks like a great year so far.

    Davie county crossbow unofficial 190

I'll see if I can get pics of the other 2.

Holy ****! I'm mean what else do you say about those deer. Especially here in NC. Wow! I am in the Harnett county area and it's been tough hunting on the farm this year. We have soy beans planted so it makes it tough to hunt on the farm right now. I'm competing with 87 solid acres of soy beans, but once those suckers get cut it's all over but the crying.

Well after those were posted mine doesn't look so big but I'll go ahead and post it... This was Alamance County last Wednesday

I'm a student at NC State and that was a late drive back to say the least, didn't get back till about 3 that morning and had an exam at 830. It was worth it though! And I'll go ahead and say yes I shot him in shorts and didn't have anything to change into.

All great bucks, I really think NC will produce some monsters in the future. The last couple of years I have heard more and more people talk about letting the young bucks walk, this is what we get. Good job guys.

Thank you! I'm glad someone besides me is saying that! The "if i don't shoot him the neighbors will" mentality has to change
