Hey guys, I've been using my trusty Moultire D55-IR for years and I'm in the market to buy a couple other cameras. I'm reading mixed reviews online so I'm wanting your guys opinions. What camera can I buy for under or right at $100 that won't let me down? I'm needing a real workhorse that will be running for most of the year. I don't care too much about how many mega pixels it has, as long as it gets the deer on camera and doesn't let me down.
For an extra $4.11 you can get a Stealth Cam G30. Hard to beat a top of the line cam for just over 100 bones Search results :: eders - Archery Equipment Bowhunting Equipment They take stellar pics.
Look into browning strike force cameras. About $117 at eders.com but has great reviews. I will be buying two of these cameras soon because of the trigger speed (0.75 sec) and the recovery time (2.3 Sec) so every three seconds i will get a photo then compared the the stealth cam g30 above you will get one photo ever ten seconds. So i would look into the strike force. i go to the review site trailcampro.com to look at a lot of reviews for the trail cameras
I'm confident that you won't find a better camera for $100 than the Moultrie M-880. I've tried Covert, Bushnell and Cuddeback, but none of them compare to Moultrie. In other news, you'll get a ton of Covert answers on here. That's because the majority of their pro-staff is on this forum, so keep that in mind. Fitz that eagle and turkey vulture pic is awesome. I would of loved to see that battle go down. Although there were probably 10 other vultures out of frame.
It is correct on normal settings. But after you have that nine image shot, you have to wait another 30 seconds to get another nine image burst. which is all upon personal preference. I prefer not to have the long recovery time.
Covert Mpe5...can be found for $80-100 online pretty easily. Ive had the same batteries in mine since turkey season.
I have had a moultrie D40 for years. Not the best pic quality but very reliable, just bulky and heavy with the D-size batteries. Last year I bought 2 wildgame innovations cameras. Ive got a Red 6 and Micro 6. Both been great so far with great pic quality.
I have a Moultrie A-5 I believe....$65 bucks I think brand new. At first I was upset that it's quickest shutter setting is 1 minute. But when I realized how many photos you can end up with during a week of windy days...I realized It was good to only snap one per minute. It also shoots 10 second videos. This function is all I ever use...If deer are hanging out, 10 seconds of video for every minute they are there is plenty to let ya know what they are doing. If I had it to do over, yes I would buy a better one. But for a bargain camera..i have no complaints. Good quality Video and Pictures...and pretty good range on the IR flash at night...I would say a solid 60 feet. Date/Time/Picture Number/Moon Phase. For $60-$70...definitely worth it.
I got my Mp6's for $109 shipped. https://www.facebook.com/426961074034357/photos/pcb.771320586265069/771317659598695/?type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/426961074034357/photos/pcb.753935738003554/753934911336970/?type=1&theater
Pro V1 just wanted to share a few night and day pics from the mp-e5, for a cam that can be found sometimes on sale for $50-$60, I think they are great pics, battery life on these little cams is really amazing. Scoot
