Sorry all! I have had a lot on my plate! I am in! Dad had a heart attack, Grandma has three brain tumors and today she is now unresponsive to anyone, and been working 16 hours shifts not by choice.

Holy crap there bro. wish I'd known. So sorry to hear what your going thru. Is your dad ok? was nice to meet the family last summer. 16 hr shifts that's a bummer too. Glad you made it here. Keep in touch.

Dad is all good with two stints! Grandma passed this morning and is now Polka Dancing with Grandpa in Heaven. She will be missed but it is a better place for her right now.

yes, condolences to your family from ours. Definitely there brother she is dancing it up now and there is a great reunion going on. Take care my friend and hope your family heals.
Glad to hear about your dad that he is doing good. Hope is stays well.
Glad to see you checked in here.

So what is everyone's prospects looking like this year? Wi has new crazy rules and where I hunt up north is buck only so we'll see what happens then. May have to go up scouting in Oct for buck holes.

I have cams out and only been able to check once! I still have stands to set on this new property. I just got permission a week ago. I have all does so far and no bucks. Bucks will come and we will see what shows up.

I've got does, fawns, and a few bucks, coyote, red fox, and racoon on vids, from July 5 - Sept. 17. AND I just got permission to hunt another farm with 80 acres of woods, so I am pumped! I'll keep you informed when I scout it out. But he showed me a shed that he found tonight and it had 10" G2. booyah!

I'll probably still take the shotgun along as well, but hoping any firearm kill will be with my new(used) toy. Not sure if I'll get it scoped before season or not, so will be limiting myself to bow range with it.

After reading some reviews opted to go with an Aimpoint 900sc red dot to top it off. Going to use a Weaver mount so won't need to drill and tap.

Illinois Gun season coming up here soon. I know a few 160+ class bucks are still walking so I hope to get one of those bucks. Season starts up on Nov 21st to 23rd. I should have either doe and buck or two does down that weekend I hope!

I head back out with the bow tomorrow. Not shooting unless it's bigger than what I have on the wall (hopefully  ). Took one yesterday with the bow, as of now I still have a valid buck tag for our gun season. I don't know if that will be the case come next Monday.

I'll be going into the gun season with a buck tag in tow.

I really think it's going to be a good season here in IL. Temps while still on the cool side are going to be warmer than they currently are. I'm thinking they'll be on their feet.

well haven't been on this post in a while. bummer is I went out to sight in my 7 mag last week and found out that the scope is broke so I'll have to got out on Monday & sight in my ol 06' but that was on last year so it should be still on. Wi gun opener is this coming weekend. We're heading up north on Thur morning, opening day is Sat. We'll do some scouting and get our locations picked out. there is 3" of snow on the ground, which will be great for opening morning and they're supposed to get more up there this week. It is buck only up there this year so the pressure will be on connecting with one.
    How bout everyone else?

How is everyone else lookin this season? any started gun huntin yet? if so how'd you do. don't forget 2 pics for the sight. good luck to everyone. I'll be in Black river falls area near Hatfield. Staying at the jackson county campground. stop by if your near. I'll staying in canvas tent covered by shelter.
good luck to everyone on the team. let's make it "one & done" !

Our season opens Friday and I'll be out. Rain should hold off until later in the evening or overnight. Saturday will be a wet one and possibly having some ice to deal with. I'll make it out when possible, think I'll make Friday buck only and then try to tag out Saturday if I make it out.

Antlers for my hunting area are pretty much rut dependent so Friday will likely be my best chance before the pressure is really put on the herd.

Anxious to try out the handgun, I may try to video if possible left handed. Not sure camera controls are set up for it though.
