After changing it, it all made sense. I believe the way I had it would have made for a killer angle of view but, it wouldn't have been good at all for concealing movement or anything at all really except me taking a shot the same time she does. It's all about her first kill being in film. Not me killing also.

You filmers take it to a whole new level. I love seeing your stuff but I can't imagine taking on the extra stress and packing the extra gear. Keep up the good work 'cause I can't wait to see some Team 10 Lung Bustin' on video.

I shot a lot this weekend. I'm dialed in out to 40 knowing my hunting max shot is 37. I've got runs on two stands that I've ranged at 37 yards (stuck a doe on one last year) but both of those stands should be able to produce shorter shots (as close as 8-10 yards). I was drilling everything inside 40 today so if I miss, I know it won't be the bow.

Good luck Nocked & Locked. I can't wait to get some "Live from the Stand" texts.

    Lets do this again,again,again!

No mule deer wanted to play today but I did catch a baby horned lizard. How many teams can claim that? ;)

I guess I'm getting ready for the September Lull on my property. Out of 13 cameras, thousands of pictures, over the last two weeks, I managed to only get two shooter bucks on camera. I should just get used to this as it seems to happen every single year. I have the does, so when the rut starts to kick in, I'll have the bucks but I would really like some early season action.

Here's Lumpy, I've had this buck all year long and he seems to be the first buck out of velvet.

A horned lizard should be worth 50pts don't ya think?

Lumpy sure is a handsome buck Skywalker.

Went out Tuesday afternoon. Saw a flock of chukar. Poked a rattlesnake with a stick. (If only reptiles counted I'd be golden)

Jumped a couple of deer but I was 'sneaking' through scrub oak so I only heard them. :(

Here's a view of some of the oak. It's thick. Nearly impenetrable. A lot of teeny-weeny acorns on them.

In the center of this pic you can see where a bunch of the mountain burned off last month.

I parked the ATV down here and hiked about two miles. This is about a seven mile ride from my house.

I suck at mule deer hunting but I'm enjoying the attempts, so I thought I'd share.

Found three bucks together this evening. Glassed them from about a mile away. Drove over to that ridge. Parked the jeep and snuck about a quarter mile over to where I saw they were headed. Got within 30 yards and then they busted me and went bouncing away. :(

It was cool tho'. Saw more mulies today than I've seen in a while.

Sadly, my 2014 Utah deer bowhunting is about over. I have maybe two more evenings I can get out before it closes.

Thanks ya'll! If I get the deer and elk figured out I'll invite any of you guys to come hunt out here. :)

Sticks, archery season closes on the 12th. I have friends coming out this week so I'll be entertaining (or attempting to do so) once they get here.

I will (hopefully) be bow hunting a few days in Colorado later this month. Then I'm done bow hunting for deer for the year. (Unless I sell a kidney and head back east for some whitetail action).

I have two cow elk tags for late December/early January. Probably use a rifle for that.

Still have a buck deer tag that I can use a muzzleloader or rifle.

So... there's still big game hunting for me, just not much bowhunting.

I hate that I'm not putting up points for the team.

You just being on the team is a pleasure. Your first year on the team you pulled up enough to cover my slacking. I really hope this year I can pull it together. I usually stop hunting when the rifles come out but, if I haven't put down a buck, I'll be in the woods until the season ends or I kill whichever comes first. This having to put two people on deer is a lot of stress and pressure.

Weather is looking good for us Saturday morning. We have a cool front moving in on the backside of a storm front with the perfect wind for the stand I set up last week. This is a high traffic area and we should be able to drop one. If it goes how it has in the past, there should be more than one shot opportunity.

They combined the field on the west side of my property today. It kinda has got my motor running for the season to start. One more week until opening day.

Haha, woo! The killing is about to commence here at team 10.

Teammates, I cannot describe my excitement this season. It's going to be one fun year for me and I feel like this team is going to hit it out of the park.

Here in a couple of hours we will be 4 days from our opening day.

Good news, bad news. Bad news: my #1 hit list buck was killed by a car this morning. Good news: the senior at the high school where I'm principal was not hurt in the accident. The kid actually felt really bad telling me because he knew I'd been watching that buck. Back to the drawing board!

2 days and the madness begins.

hoyt_64, it will happen my friend. You never know when a shooter will wonder into your property.
