Second yr clover a Dolgo and ? Crabapple, Wolf River apple Wolf River up close. Trees are from Burnt Ridge in WA.
Just found out that we got 4" of rain near the cabin last night. Roads washed out. We were already too wet before this. I would not be surprised if my plots are destroyed.
Your brassicas are hardy and if it dries out don't be surprised to see them pull through...the rye and pea plot....well that may be needing a quick re seed with some winter rye as that stuff will grow fast and tender during season as long as rain doesn't keep coming.
The heaviest, thickest, nastiest, clay material you can imagine combined with no elevation change so the water doesn't go anywhere.
This was how wet it was before the 4" last night. We have never got rain like this before since I owned it so I don't know what to expect on how the plots drained and handled it.
Thats alot of water. Getting the same thing in kewaunee and door county WI. My properties def drain faster than that though. Everytime we have planted this year we get a 2 or 3 inch soaker within the next few days. Great for germimatiom and covering seeds but its been prown to washout of some seeds as well. Need a couple hot windy dry days now to get those new wet seeds to blast off.
I planted CowPeas for the first time last year - they looked amazing, the deer didn't do much with them. Not sure what the deal was. I was shocked that they didn't hit them very hard. They hammered my soy bean plot just 80 yards away.
Controlled burn prior to tilling Plot #1 Tilling #1 Plot #1 - Soy Beans (32 days growth) Plot #2 - Evolved Harvest Shot Plot and Whitetail institute Imperial clover. (32 days growth)
