I will be hunting the second shotgun season in Iowa with Pat and a couple of other staff members. I can not wait to get back down there. They have some ABSOLUTE SLOBS running around.

Im here... Will be out with the shotgun Nov. 15 til Jan here in VA... We run dogs so dont have the ability to be too picky. So a monster is certainly possible but not likely, im just ready to be in the woods.

I have *a* muley buck tag. I have until September 12 to fill it with a bow. If that doesn't happen, I can use it during rifle season.

If it comes down to using my rifle... I will fill that tag. :)

(hopefully... here's to hoping my mom is out of the hospital soon)
Edit: the hospital just discharged my mom. :)

I know you will be after a big buck and Pat will shoot anything, so just put me on one in between. Go TEAM 7

Thanks! She was in with an intestinal blockage and that can either resolve on it's own (which it did) or she'd need surgical intervention. Surgical intervention means a long hospital stay and painful recovery so not only would it be sucky and worrisome but it would pretty much mean I'd be back in Chicagoland helping her.... and not hunting at all. :P

Glad to hear mom is OK. :)

I will be roaming the woods of NY with my rifle come mid November and doing my best to tag a buck. The bad news is I had not even touched the trigger on my gun for 6 years before tagging out the last two opening days in a row so I'm pushing my luck yet hoping for a nice trifecta. The good news is I hunt 350 acres of land that's about as good as you could hope for in NY. I have a legit chance at a BIG buck.

That's a long winded BS smoke screen to avoid the most likely scenario which is me eating tag soup or shooting a half racked spiker that will make a Fergie buck look like a Booner.

One thing you can be sure of.......if I don't score it won't be from a lack of effort and I will have more fun then I deserve trying :)

Good Luck to all........this looks like it's going to be fun :)

Please let me know when/if you are all checked in, if you have a team name and a captain. Just send me a PM. Thanks.

Just waiting on Pat to check in but he has been swamped with calls and emails so I will bug him soon. Who wants to be captain and any team name suggestions?

    Heh... Boom.

My deer rifle is a Tikka t3 in 300 win mag. Here's to the Boom. :)
I'll be using 150 gr Barnes TTSX.

I just bought a muzzleloader today. CVA accura v2 .50 cal. So, I might be taking that out a couple of days too. (tho' I might be in Colorado during the UT muzzy season)

What's everyone else using for boom-sticks?
