Now that I've bought all this crap, I'm going to have to return a few times to justify the spending :)

Shoot if I get one and guys help me I'll gladly do a week long fishing trip (the next time) (guys keep stating great fishing) and be there on standby for hauling out meat in return of the favor! :D

I would polish the delivery and wording up a different way if she's anything like mine that won't fly :D

Haha very true. Or I'll just work for my friends dad and buy a license. And tell her I got "drawn" for a hard to get unit that I was trying to gain points to hunt!

    Maybe not haha.

You should be able to find some kind of map to download onto it. Just google for topo maps for lowrance h2o.

My husband and I don't worry about each other spending money on guns, outdoor toys and hunting stuff.... but we do have a problem coming up with the funds for it all.

I am going have to borrow the hubby's gps. Mine died and I haven't bought a new one yet. I've been using my phone as a gps. The phone works good but battery life is poor.

I'd go buy a gps but we just bought a jeep (yj). It's cheaper than a UTV. Downside for me is that it's a stick and I don't trust my remedial manual transmission skills on these mountains. :)

My Garmin Foretrex 401, has no topo on it, I only use it for waypointing wallows, bedding area's, rubs and the truck. I have a topo map of the area to see where I am :)

Good, one less thing to buy and I'm not too worried about bears anyway.

I left a bottle of bear spray at Will's last year, so I'll probably pick that up if Will ain't used it, as I plan on Bivvying out for a night or two on the tops. If I do get compromised by a bear, I don't want my hunt to finish early to explain to the Ranger, if I had to make that fatal shot.

Just figured I'd check back in one last time as I've been actively following this thread. Struck out on WY antelope but got my friend his first antelope, archery public land DIY spot and stalk at that. Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.

Up in Alaska knocking out a few job interviews while up here to save on return flights later this winter. Actually flying up to Nome today to tour their facility there.

Anyway I'm checking out for 15 days starting Friday as we kick off our moose float hunt. Nearest town will be about 70 miles away so doubt there will be much cell service :) Good luck to all of you and hopefully we see a few first time elk photos when I return. Shoot straight fellas.
