I have my stands all up just have some limbs to trim, also have two food plots I'm going to drill in but have to wait till harvest. Couple more things to purchase and more shooting and I'll be ready to go.

Got a few things to do when I get home in 2 weeks. Fine tune my broadheads, finish packing the camper, shoot some more, head for the mountains an start glassing. I've seen a couple good bucks. I can't wait to get into the mountains.

I'm all set to go, just hoping I have more time to hunt this year. For team names, I have been thinking, but I'm not too creative... Tree stand trouble makers... Idk haha

Right on, 2 Idaho boys. My buddy moved there about 2 years ago. He loves it. He has already killed 2 giant Muleys.

Im ready for opening day. I will trim a few braches next week, but for the most part Im ready. Picked up 3 cans of Nosejammer today. It seems to work really good the first week. I have wood cutters in my spot right now cleaning up all the dead fall that's been pilling up over the years. So I may get off to a slow start. Good luck Team!

We don't have high grossing antlers here. A 100" is above the average killed. That's mostly due to guys taking the first leagal buck they see. A 120" to 130" is a great Pacific Hybrid buck. It takes a lot of practice and experience to figure out how to find and kill a nice buck here with archery equipment. The biggest obstacle is getting access to private land. The guys that kill big deer on public land really have to go far and beyond everyone else. I have access to pretty good private land so I just have to be patient and keep an eye on the doe's. The rut is in full swing through November, but pre rut can be good and they will be chasen late bloomers all the way through December. I live in a traditional drought area so water is the key. Im at about 4000 ft and generally hunt from a tree stand in a pretty heavily wooded area. Lots of big old oak trees, pines, and cottonwood trees. Here is a few pics of local bucks me and buddies have killed here. The last 3 are mine

Those are all studs, great deer!

Hunting private ground definitely gives a person a leg up, we've been blessed to have 2 great properties. Between a buddy and myself we've taken 7-8 130+ bucks in the last 10 years, the one in my picture above is a 150+. With that said neither of us saw a mature buck last year, barely any deer at all for that matter so we are hoping that we start to see things come around this year.

I hope you and your buddy both kill giants this year. I will have plenty of opportunity early for descent bucks in the average range but I will wait for the big boys to show in Nov. Im heading to the land of the giant desert Muley in Jan. Going to Arizona for a week of spot and stalk hunting with a few buddies. Can't wait.

I have no kill pics, as this is the second year I'll be hunting, but I do have a trail cam pic from a recent pull.
