P&YChaser checking in. First year joining the contest although I followed quite a bit last year. I'll be hunting in central WI and have a few decent ones that I've been watching all summer including a nice split brow and split g2 12 point (sorry don't have any pics on my work computer). Really looking forward to getting to know you all throughout the year. As for names, I'd have to say I like Dead Deer Society or Rack Addicts.
DDS works for me too. I'll update the check in when I get home from work. I can do captain duties, if nobody else wants em...put that on my resume!
Bobcat031 checking in! I'm in Michigan and our season starts Oct 1st. I'm looking forward to getting to know my team mates. Does anyone know how to set up GroupMe? My team used it last year. It let let you instant message everyone on your team. Great way to keep on touch.
Yikes...what have I gotten myself into? This is my first year playing, so I'll have to brush up on the score posting rules.
How did everybody fare last season? Last year was my first time hunting since I was about 16. I only had 10 acres of private land to hunt, and thought my options would be very limited, so I took the first deer that presented a shot. After shooting a little 70" buck on Nov. 3rd, mature bucks started chasing does all over this property. To say I was kicking myself would be putting it lightly. Live and learn!
So we have a Capt. and it looks like we have our name picked too. Can we make the name official and do we have the red DDS with antlers righted out I wanna change my profile pic to it.
Last year sucked for me. It was shaping up to be a good one but then at the beginning of Oct I was sent to an Air Force school till Dec. lost the whole season:-( This year I will be around the whole season though!!
Last year was somewhat successful for me. I shot a 7 1/2 year old buck on Nov. 7th....but made a bad shot and couldn't find him after 2 days of looking. Then i missed a big 10 named Uno on Nov 17th.....ended up shooting 9 does by seasons end. Then i found my buck during shed season this spring. I got him mounted anyway. He scores 134 with only 7 typical points and an 11 1/2" inside spread. He's the one on the top left
I can give the logo a go in photoshop tonight if we decide on a design. Last season I didn't have a legal buck in range in Pa and I ate tag soup. In Ohio I passed on 3 bucks waiting for the big 10 I saw twice early in the season but never connected. I had a rest malfunction and missed a doe the first weekend in Ohio as well. This year I have 5 tags between the two states (2 buck tags, 3 doe tags). I have a lot of deer on camera in Ohio and found a new spot in Pa so I am optimistic!
