Normally I wouldn't make a post like this, but holy hell man. For some reason he's one of the few TV show FB pages I follow, but I think I do it just to see what comes out of his mouth. This is just one example of how he talks to his "fans" on his FB page. How can companies sponsor a guy who preaches the bible in one post and then slams his own fans in the next post? Reading some the comments lately, his followers seem to be catching on. Then there is the issue that the buck pictured isn't from the outfitter he uses in Alberta, but is actually from Saskatchewan.
I didn't like the first impression I got from him and his show so I'm not surprised to see him lying about deer and treating his fans like crap. He's always been this arrogant from what I can tell.
I know the Internet isn't necessarily a place for perfect grammar or punctuation, but you'd think a TV "professional archer" would display professionalism in how he speaks and posts. I second that seminar for PR and tact.
It is kinda sad that he posted a picture that wasn't even from the outfitter he was promoting. I wonder if he knew...
I bet its the religion he wears on his sleeve that keeps sponsors happy. He's nothing more than a snake oil selling preacher.
It's not like that deer is unique and easily recognizable or anything. I am sure there are tons of deer that look just like that... If you are going to put up pictures of monster deer, at least do something like a typical 10 pointer that is somewhat common.
Alright, I almost didn't add the deer picture in because he probably didn't know it wasn't from the outfitter and wasn't the intent of this thread.
He seems like a massive hypocrite to me. Always pushing the religion thing, but seems to live an almost opposite life style of what he preaches. I don't know him personally, so I can't say for sure, but that's the vibe I get from him.
I watched one of his shows last week when he was hunting whitetails in Canada. He shot at a nice buck and shot right over his back. At that point, they cut away to Chris sitting in a studio holding his new Martin and he said the ONLY reason he missed was because the bow he was using (a Diamond I think??) was too loud.....and THAT was why he switched to Martin. Chris is one heck of a shot, but thats where my respect for him ends. Didn't he engage in a Facebook battle with some other TV hunters recently?
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. Abraham Lincoln
I think everybody knows that. But when you put yourself in the public spotlight you are accountable for the content of your posts. He didn't know I'm sure. I feel bad that the outfitter would try to pull a fast one, and it just shows you that you have to check your sources when you are in the public eye.
The BHOD team has positive interactions with their fans and goes out of their way to make everyone on this site feel like they are part of something. They also have almost double the # of FB likes than C.B. Ironic huh?
