    I'd be down for joining but I haven't killed many deer (still have yet to shoot a buck) but I'm pretty active on the board so that may help out. I won't be butt hurt if I don't get on a team though.

    obviously, the entries for the main contest are far from over, but here is a quick breakdown by state. I wouldn't expect the entries to vary in distribution among states much over time before entry is closed.

    I'll rep for nj. There's definitely enough on for to get a team. A lot of other states underestimate nj but we have some decent bucks

    You would be on team NC....you could travel to Canada but the team you rep is the team that gets the points.

    Sounds like a great idea Ty.
    To even the score with the not-giant-buck states, could we make it a tag team event? Give each state a seed based on last five years Pope and Young entries and pair them with a state on the lower end of the spectrum? Or is that too much hassle?

    Obviously we're trying to sort the men from the boys, but it would be a bit of an equalizer, and better than a multiplier or something like that

    The truth is it would get to complicated and to be honest there is nothing stating the Kansas boys or Illinois boys don't eat tag soup or shoot a "average" buck in their states that is a good one in others (but doable). As an example TJ last year shot a 115-130 inch buck (can't remember where it was exactly). That by no means is a giant in Kansas but is very doable also in pretty much any state represented on the board....If this was for money or some kind of serious prize I would see merit in doing a tag team or calculating an exact multiplier to make things fair but this is for fun ultimately and while yeah Kansas, Illinois or Wisconsin or Ohio will more than likely win...it is no guarantee.

    I love this idea! I'm the only choice/hope for Rhode Island!!!!! Like you guys said though, we would have to make a few areas "regional" example: The Northeast Division could be combined states of: RI,MA,CT,NH,VT,ME,NY,NJ,PA,MD
