My archery shop has a kids league on Saturdays - I was so surprised how many little girls there were! It's great! I never was one to do the normal "girl" things growing up. Much rather be hanging out with my brother and his friends or in a barn!

Welcome to the forum. It's good to see another female person here. Hunting with a bow is great fun. And you don't really have to spend a lot. I've taken several deer with a bow we bought at a yard sale for $20.

Both of our daughters (Miriam is six, Michelle is four) are very much into hunting, shooting, and also fishing. Miriam has her own bow and practices with us in the backyard. Miriam is also shooting a .22 single shot rifle at the range. Michelle watches and learns. It will be her turn in another year. My husband and I always hunt together. Last deer season we took Miriam along. We were going to wait another year to take Michelle along, but older sister begged to allow her to come this next season, so daddy agreed. We spend a lot of time in the woods scouting for critters in the off-season and the girls have always come with us, even before they were old enough to walk.
When my daughter was little like that she was into it but has lost interest. Hopefully that will rekindle down the road but the drive has to come from within.
