Haha. I should be fine. I'll be the only person hunting on the property tomorrow. I'm anxious to try it, I think it will be a good time.
I'm PUMPED!!!! Put a flock to bed this evening... going after 'em in the morning. The farm is owned by another Amish buddy. He took me to a huge pine stand and we waited... there they were - about 12 of them. TWO HUGE TOM's... I swear one musta' been 30 pounds - what a monster!!!!!!!!! The farm is about an hour away - so I'm going to bed. Will keep you all posted. I'll be alone - wish me luck! Did I tell 'ya... I'M PUMPED... oh Gawd... what birds!!!!!!! Nite all...

Quiet as a church mouse. Been raining off & on. Gun hunters over ridge to the right of my decoys. Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
I was trying to make an easy target for a big Tom The birds went down the mountain onto the flats by the river and never came out into the high meadow. Sent from my C811 4G using Tapatalk
Team 7 has three birds to put on the board and they have some heavy hitters that will probably put another one down. We need another bird! :p Snake!!!, Stop dorking around! LOL!
No birds today either. Can't hunt on Amish land Sundays. Maybe that's a good thing - give 'em a rest. Think I'll try my cousins. Sure want one of those big boys though! 'Atta boy snake
Is that taxidermist in another state?!!!! You are killing me! Let's see the bird! I am sure it's a dandy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm sorry to disappoint, but I killed it with a shotgun. My wife and I doubled up this morning. She killed a double beard: 19lbs 10oz, 9 3/4 beard, 5" beard, 1" spurs. I killed a quadruple beard: 10", 8 1/4", 6 1/2", and 6 3/4" beards, 1 1/4" spurs, 19 lbs 13 oz. it was an awesome morning. We ended up killing them at 11:30. I'll be bowhunting from here on out. I'm hunting a new place in the morning with several birds and nobody has hunted it yet. It's bow or nothing for the next week.
That's great snake! There is nothing like doubling up with the family. That's a dandy of a turkey as we'll. I'd been at a dead run to the taxidermist as we'll. Tell us about the hunt! We're you running and gunning or camp out? Were the birds vocal / responsive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was set up on where they were roosted this morning and had them gobbling and strutting at 100 yards for a couple hours. They had 2 hens with them and we never used a call or decoys. We just watched and waited. They left the hens and shut up for a couple hours. About 10:15 we found them again about 1/4 mile away. They went into the woods again following a hen and I had a good idea where they would be headed to. We ran to the food plot I've been seeing them strut in. They gobbled a couple time on the way there. When they walked into the food plot I dropped the lead bird.My wife had to reposition and smoked the 2nd bird. The 3rd bird just stood there and was a double beard as well! He didn't leave until we got up. We never used a decoy or made a call today and shot them at 11:30. They were the 3 birds I've been after all season, so it was a very gratifying day.
Great job snake! Awesome double! Now leave that shotgun in the cabinet... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just scored my bird. Sure wish it would've been with a bow. It ended up at 107.8125. That would've helped a lot.
