Alright well season opened Monday, and tomorrow morning myself and my vidcamdude/shotgun will finally be heading out. Pulled the card on my cam, and had 14 hens and 1 tom in a picture. There are a ton of hens on this property, so I hope we can break a tom away in the morn.

Never turkey hunted here, so who knows...

Well had a very nice Tom come in from a long ways out, responding perfectly....but held up at 50 yds. Not sure what he didnt like, but slowly turned and walked slowly away. Then stood out at 100 yds again and strutted for 30 more mins.... frustrating. Got it all on film...just not the kill :(

I had a jake and a hen decoy setup. What are your deke setups??

Early season I'll run either a lone hen or like you did with a Jake Hen.

Hunted yesterday morning with my daughter. Put out a hen decoy with a following jake. We had 7 male birds 4 good Toms and 3 jakes. She shot at a nice bird knocked it down and it ran off and we never found him. I think she shot low and hit him in the body. I will be back out Saturday hope I can pull them in again!

Hunted with my pop this morning. Had two long beards fly down out of the roost 60 yards from us gave them a couple purrs and he they come!! Unfortunately they went on the wrong side of me so we couldn't double up but I told him to take the lead bird. 25 yard shot bird down!! 22#, 1 1/4 spurs, 11 1/4" beard!! Would have loved to have him for the contest!!

Hunted Saturday, and got kinda close to 4 birds on the roost. Unfortunately I had to compete with 6 hens and I lost. Drove around afterwards and saw all 10 of them in the middle of a field hanging out.

Getting really frustrated with the birds. I have a creek that seperates my property and the neighbors. The birds roost 10 yards on his side, fly down and go the other way everytime. I've hunted them about 8 mornings and its the same outcome each time. I'm starting to lose interest:/

This is my last weekend. Things aren't looking good either. I hope my luck turns around this weekend.

I had him 30 yards this morning trying to draw without getting picked off and two hens ran in and took him away!! I have called in birds for everyone else to kill except myself! What is the deal? Lol!!! I am enjoying calling and fooling with them!

Called in two Toms to 35 yards yesterday morning, but they wouldn't come off the other ridge down to my decoy therefore not presenting a shot! DANG!!!! Was exciting tho.

Hunted this morning shot a nice bird at 20 yards. Feel like I made a good shot but can not find it. Searched close to three hours. Just can't seem to catch a break this year!
