zone 2. Now reviewing my schedule, I'm screwed for hunting days. got about 3-4 out of 6 days to hunt. the first day thru the 3rd day is out. I'm hoping to take comp time on may 6th and hunt that full day if need be.
I have a zone 2 tag but not sure of a good place to hunt in that zone Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
I can not for the life of me get this Tom to come in. I've set up within 100 yards and we talk while he's on roost. He flies down and heads up the hill. I can't cross that property line. Any words of wisdom from you fellas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Extra hen decoys an a jake with the tail down an open right behind a feeding hen. Call early as soon as he's gobbling on the roost what's he pitches down yelp very softly away from him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well fellas I wasn't able to get it done in Illinois this year however I'm going to do my best to get to Kansas in a few weeks to try to put one down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll have to pick some more decoys up after vacation. Got a light rain moving in right now. Plan to stay out till around 1 today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Light rain should be good for you. Another thing you can do to help entice them to come in is rake up the area where you are setting the decoys if it is legal where you're hunting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had one come in about 70 yards. Paid no attention to my decoys. I just hit my gobble call and the Tom on the hill responded. Hopefully he'll want to come and fight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When is your hunt in zone 2. I might be able to take you out on some public land near me and show you where to set up.
Guys need to post their scores http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=60237 Sent from my iPhone 5s using Tapatalk
Heading out tomorrow to try for a bird in Illinois. I may grab another Iowa tag also and hunt next week in Iowa. will be using the same arrow I shot my bird with. Gonna keep sending this thing through animals until it breaks. So far it has knocked down a doe and a bird.
Well boyz, My season starts this Wed & unfortunately my schedule is full with work so i only have about 2-3 days to pull it off. weather here has been crappy, cold & rain all week clearing on Saturday which is one of the full days I can hunt.
Good luck guys, I saw a few lone toms this morning when I drove to work. They should be coming off their hens soon. Hopefully you guys at the end of your seasons get a good one. I'll be out this weekend to try and get "The King of Castleman Hill". That's what I named the bird that sits on a hill across the property line.
