So I'm new to turkey hunting. I need some pointers. The turkeys today was gobbling a LOT. I'm not very seasoned when it comes to calling and the only calls I feel comfortable with is yelps and cuts. I had toms 150 yards from me all day but wouldn't respond to my calls. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm sure they just aren't responding yet. Where they in a group with hens or alone? I heard quite a few this morning but nothing would respond to anything but a crow call. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Didn't have any luck this weekend. Yesterday was way too windy to do any good. But my buddy smoked a coyote that was trying to sneak up on his decoys. Im going to try and take a couple days off from work this week and give them another shot. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Tom morning is going to be COLD. I've new to these birds. How well do they respond and move in cold temps?
SOunds like a rough start, hopefully my spot turns out good. chased 70 turkeys out of it during deer season. good luck to all
Ok I pulled my camera off where I usually hunt. Only 2 lone hens every once in awhile on camera after 40 days out there. I am going after work to pull the card off my new property and hang that camera from the first one over a field edge.
Came home from work this afternoon and 4 long beards standing on the side of the road! I hope they are around in a couple days!
I'm heading out to hunt in the am, but will be taking the shotgun on this hunt. Hopefully will get some good scouting in so I can stick one with my bow Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
Hunted this morning. I had three jakes 15 yards and two long beards hung up about 50 yards away with hens. Could not get the gobblers to leave the hens. Will try again tomorrow morning.
I pulled the card this morning. Had a strutting Tom across the field on the neighbors property for a long time this morning. Several other hens and and Tom looking birds crossing the field. AT least a have a chance.
Went a few times last week and this weekend, they are still with hens. Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk
