I am currently looking to upgrade all of my bowhunting equipment and the one thing I'm not as sure about is the brand of arrow rest to go with. I have been using a wisker bisket with my current setup but want to go to a drop away with my new setup. I was thinking of going with the QAD Ultrarest but I am unsure of the full containment catching my fletchings. Any suggestions on the best setup for deer hunting?

I like my Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro.

works like a limbdriver, so you don't have to worry about timing issues and get better guidance but is also quiet as all get out

I really like my QAD HDX. It tuned real easy and I get great arrow flight from it.

I'll never shoot anything that is not limb driven.

Currently my two favorite rests are the Trophy Taker Smackdown Pro or QAD HDX.... I own both and like them both for different reasons... Either rest would be a great choice....

What are the advantages of a limb driven rest over one that is triggered by up/down strings?

Limb driven rests will stay up longer giving better arrow control and more forgiveness.

This is definitely true but I switched just cause of my paranoia surrounding that 18" string snagging something as I'm belly crawling around. Probably would never be an issue but it was always on my mind bugging me.

My limbdriver was definitely easier to tune than my current Apache rest....

I used to worry about that, but most LD rests aren't adding any more "snagging" stuff out there than your cables already are. But, I see where you are coming from. I'm sure it has happened before.

No complaints with the QAD $55 dollar version for the last 5 years.

I've got a Vaportrail Limbdriver Pro V and love it. No worries on the string either. If that string is going to catch something, your bow strings will too!!! The limbdriven rest string doesnt have chance to slide up or down like a string driven rest. I've seen it happen when the string to the rest has slid on the bow strings when a guy pulls back resulting in the rest not coming up into the "ready" position. Just something to think about, not bashing them.

qad hdx for string driven or the limbdriver pro v and the new g5 cmax looks good for limb driven options

Honestly I would just keep the WB, one less thing thing to go wrong in the woods.

Limb driver pro v. Several years and thousands of shots later still works flawless it has never failed IMO it's the best rest out there, I'll never switch.

i originally shot the limb driver and tried the pro v, but it seemed a bit more finicky to tune. i'm interested in their new blade rest coming out. i'm not a target shooter, but i still want to see one.

Surprised to hear that. I found it to be the very easy to tune compared to every other drop away rest I've used and have heard a lot of people say the same. What was the issue you had with it and what rest did you switch to?
