Threw together a quick spring snow goose video for you guys that are getting the itch for the upcoming season, or just like seeing birds decoy!

This was the 2013 Spring Conservation season. This is a kill shot only video (way too much video to do anything more for on here) so I hope you guys enjoy! Youtube ruined the quality and cannot get it to download in HD for some reason so sorry about that.

Anyone been after snows yet? Pretty sure we are making a first hunt/scouting trip this coming weekend in South Dakota!

Anyone seeing any where you're at regardless if you're hunting them or not?

I Leave tomorrow afternoon for South Dakota, by the weekend you should be able to hunt anywhere in the state. I will be along 212 somewhere.

Have you talked to anybody in SD? I'd be surprised if there is many birds there with the crazy weather. I talked to a buddy in IA this morning that said they are just now seeing a few birds there now.
I read somewhere there was 3 1/2 million stacked up around squaw creek.

On the plus side, all the snow up north should make for lots of water on the nesting grounds for ducks!

Now that the season is over I've been seeing some different species in our area.

Sunday on my way to church I saw a small pond with about 100 redheads in it.
Yesterday on my way home from work the same pond had about 30 redheads and about 30 buffleheads in it.

I was all excited, never seen those in the wild (when I was looking). I don't think they're rare necessarily, just new to me since I'm new to waterfowling.

These past few months have been a drag! Ice fishing is getting old, ready for some fly fishing and turkey hunting just to make the time pass quicker!! Good luck to you guys out pounding the snows.

Shot 80 over the three days. Mainly adults which where extremely weary. Zero bands, but all in all it was a fun trip! The birds on the tailgate are half the birds from the second day (they had been breasted minus their wings, and the birds stacked below are half the birds from 3rd day.

Thats my new pup, 16 week old Chesapeake bay retriever. He will be ready to go this fall!

Grats on the birds. I went a few ayers ago and we shot close to 100 birds with zero bands. The guide we had said some years he gets a dozen +. Some years he gets just 3 or 4 a season

We got a little go pro of stuff. Weird year, we never had any big days. A few pretty good ones but nothing too great.
