lol thats how I ended up with this one. Wasnt even trying to sell my last truck but for the right price it was gone.
So is having 1400 lbs of random scrap metal junk in the back to achieve the same effect but hey we aren't judging you are we?!
2010 Ford F150. Lifted the right way. Fox 2.5 Coilovers, Fox 2.0 rear shocks. Icon Upper Control Arms and Alcan progressive rear leaf springs. Give my 2.5" of lift all the way around and it soaks up bumps like a baja truck. Added a 30" LED lightbar behind the grill Added Rigid Flush Mount Dually's in the bumper for good back up lights Added LED Bed lights for those early morning and late nights. they are tucked under the bed rails Had a custom switch panel made to run the AUX lights.
Its the poor mans way to fit bigger tires so I dont end up stuck in a field and have the situation Pat had
If I have 1400 lbs of scrap metal in the back of my truck, it's because it needs to be hauled. Which is what real trucks do. I bet my prius has spent a greater percentage of it's time on trails, and hauling stuff (dead stuff included) than 90% of the 'trucks' out there. And at 40+ mpg, just how stupid is that? I was actually referring to the 12 soda cans, logging chains, broken ATV ramps, 3 dead rabbits, 5 gallon buckets, leg hold traps, and other miscellaneous things to be found in your truck bed at any given moment. No room left for actual scrap metal. lol
Started at 16 with a '93 Bronco with 8 inches, torn the rear end up pretty bad, but it was fun. Went to a '97 F250. then a new 2001 Tacoma, TRD 4x4 just about everything, ABSOLUTELY an amazing truck... My far the best truck i have had overall. in 4x4 it was great, on road it was great, beach was great... Really wished there was a way for me to have kept that truck, would be the perfect hunting truck... Ended up wanting a Full size truck so got this. 2005 1500 5.3 4x4 ~53K mi. No Bells No whistles. Ill drive this until its falling apart on me. Got back from school wanted something smaller to drive everyday, but still have the ability to take it to the mountains or hunt in a few early season spots. 2010 Tacoma 4cyl 2wd 35K mi. I will also drive this until its falling apart on me. Im really hoping i can get atleast another 10-12 years out of both. Both have been great vehicles. This is about the last time they were both clean... I hate washing trucks, need to be better about that
... Well I figured out the cabin heat issue... blown head gasket. Not bad, just enough to put some combustion in the cooling system and vapor locking the system. Over the last few weeks I've worked on it when I've had the time. I finally got it done and fired up last Friday. I ran out of the barn like I just KO'd the Russian. I was thinking of trading it for a cherokee but I think now I'm going to fix it up a little more and keep it. After seeing the condition of the short block, I'm satisfied I can get a lot more miles out of it.
