Only one small guy dropped here and he was so early I'm thinkin he busted them off fighting. Big boys are all hanging on as of a week and a half or so ago. I'll be checking again this weekend to see what's going on. Seemed early February was when they dropped last year.

All my cams besides 3 are pulled down. Didnt wanna leave mine hanging out on the public ground unless I was visiting more. Im with art going to wait until early Feb. We still got a good amount of snow then suppose to be geeting another 2 inches today and tomorrow. Need some warmer temps or rain to melt a little snow. Coyote hunting and the indoor 3d range will keep me busy this weekend. Hit the ice last saturday, had to release 2 others to small then 2 bass 3-4lbs

    Nice snot rockets!

35 degrees and sunny again this Sunday so I will be back out to look for more sheds. We don't have near the amount of snow we had in December so shed hunting is pretty easy here right now (walking part of it that is). Headed north to fish tomorrow and Saturday and then shed hunt Sunday and possibly Monday since I have MLK day off.

We've had 16.2" since December 3rd. The sod is covered with that or more (drifting) but the fields are roughly 90% black.

Nope I was going through everything; trees, CRP (little tougher), corn, fields, etc.,. It was actually much easier than I thought it would be at this point in winter. Followed deer trails as much as possible and even getting off of them wasn't bad.

Was out last Saturday and the snow was about 3 feet deep. I know because I fell in it 3 times and had to dig to the bottom so I could get back up. Was sinking 14 inches with every step with snowshoes on. Never saw any bone but my friend found some. Supposed to be above 0 for the next week, maybe get rid of some snow.

Looks like some snow and wind will be putting a damper on my shed hunting this weekend. Time will tell I guess. We had gusts of 40-60mph pretty much all day yesterday so what snow we did have blew away but talking some more tonight into tomorrow with 30mph winds.

Good meeting everyone on the team. Enjoyed visiting and hearing others success or struggles. Good luck with shed hunting, spring turkey and anything else you might be going after.

Well my season came to a close yesterday.

I hunted a specific buck the majority of the season to no avail. Waited too late to put a doe down cause I knew I could do that at will. I was wrong. They were darn skittish towards the end. First season in 14 years I didn't have at least 1 bow kill.

Sounds like the majority of us had a down year, besides Heck. Do you know anything about free range aoudad hunting in Texas? Like any ranches you can pay a reasonable trespass fee on to hunt them?

I live in the Amarillo area which is one of the two aoudad areas of W Texas ( palo Duro canyon area and the big bend area). I don't know of anything but I will do some asking around and will pass on anything that might be noteworthy.

Had my 2013 buck officially scored. 153 7/8 net. BAH!!!! 1 1/8 shy of P&Y. Booo hoo to deductions on Non-typical deer! He grossed a little more then what I measured him at. :p He will always be a trophy in my eyes!
