It's stings. At -50 exposed flesh freezes in 5 mins. Scary stuff

What state are you in. I'm in Wisconsin and the windchill is -35 right now and school is closed tomorrow but not Tuesday yet

I walked 20 yards to put the garbage out today and my legs stung once I got inside... Not even 5 minutes.

It doesn't feel like anything stabbing you until you've been outside for a good 10-15 minutes. It does hurt to breathe though.

    Feels like -51 here now.

Wind chills supposed to hit -45 here tonight. I've been going out and starting the vehicles every 3 to 4 hours. Lots of snow. My Ram has a drift burying the back end and it's only been there a couple hours. End of my driveway has a 20' drift pile thats thigh-waste deep on me. Lots of people stranded on the highways. All roads are closed but emergency personnel is working to get to people. They are using social media to locate snowmobiles to "borrow" so they can get to people. It's crazy around here.

We are bottoming out at -45 tonight. One of my buddies is going to Cancun for spring break and the current temp there is 75. That's only a 120 degree difference. It's insane when you think about it in those terms.

I have a cabin by Watertown, SD. The straight temp up there is -25 with a windchill of -53.

Hooker, imagine breathing in and the snot on your nostril hairs freezing immediately. That's one of the wonderful sensations on below zero temperatures.

It's no big deal, just feels cold. If I'm going to be out long, I'll wrap my hair around my face. You could do the same with a scarf.

The only bad thing is what it does to your heating bill. You're sounding like a wuss here.

If you don't have any additive. I foresee you gelling up.

Power service 911 and a new fuel filter will be your friend today.

Exactly. You have to blend a 50/50 mix of #1 and #2 at a minumum. Being this cold I was even edge that #1 up some more.

Everyone makes the cold out to more than it really is. I sat and stood on cold concrete in below zero weather last night and never once got cold. Not even my hands. It was no big deal. I listen to the news and make it out to be that we were just suffering out there. They must have crappy gear.

Its -17 here right now with a pretty heafty wind. It feels a bit chilly out walking to my car.

I somewhat agree. It's not hard to stay warm when you layer like a banshee.

I think the worst part of the cold is trying to keep your eyes open. They just sting in this cold and it feels pretty helpless. Your lips get chapped super quickly, too.

I'm pretty sure you all have a few screws loose. If hell had a colder twin brother I'm pretty sure y'all are hangin with him. -anything sounds like no fun to this Cali boy. Personally I enjoy being able to go outside year round without freezing to literal death. Props to you guys tho for sticking it out.

Yeah man. -50 wind chill is nothing... Frostbite can set in in roughly 10-20 minutes, but it's no big deal.

I understand that you're a cheese head, which makes you a bit loopy in the first place... But c'mon.

You were dealing with a 5 degree air temp that felt like -15.
