hi guys I shoot 100gr muzzy 3 blades and with my old bow they shot a little higher than my field tips. I got a new bow and now they shoot lower and left of my field tips. Does anyone else have them shoot left or right compared to their field tips? Thanks
I used to be a muzzy user myself, they got the job done. Have you paper tuned your bow? If not, Google will lead you to a bunch of websites that will show you how. Google is my go-to problem solver lol
sounds like you need a little fine tuning my friend. i dont think its the broadhead, i would play with the rest a little bit and shoot the broadheads until i hit dead on with them. you shouldnt see a huge difference in your field point flight. let us know what you do to fix it.
thanks for the info ill look into that I thought something might be up because my old bow was not that off
I agree. I shoot the Muzzy 3 blade practice heads (same as the hunting head) and get nice groups. I don't usually shoot the same spot for obvious reasons. I don't hunt with field points, so I don't shoot them.
I Am an avid Muzzy user and found out that the 100 grain four blade flies better than the three blade out of the higher speed bows. The three blade seem to plane when not in the perfect shooting position that is not found in a hunting situation.
That's it, I think you would all bow hunters should practice this way, of course, the biggest problem is the target, and that not all manufacturers have practice blades...
Certainly a little fine tuning will get you where you want to be. Tuning your bow will allow you to shoot a variety of heads pretty much the same. With a tuned bow you can shoot field points for practice and not have to tear up your target if you don't want to shoot broadheads. When you practice you are working on your form so it doesn't matter which head is on the arrow.
There is no need to shoot your broadheads once everything is properly tuned. The broadheads and field tips should be the same. If not, something is out of tune. Once properly tuned, why shoot broadheads, except occasionally just to make sure all is well?
