So tomorrow me and two of my buddies are going late bow/muzzleloader hunting in NY and was just wondering if anyone has had any luck in the late season yet?

we usually fill tags during muzzleloader here in upstate ny. We don't sit on stand this late, the places we hunt are heavily pressured. Usually we post up 1 or 2 guys, and 1 or 2 still hunt through an area.

I am hunting Jersey and just killed a buck on Tuesday! He was grunting, making scrapes and chasing a young doe! I was hunting over a food source.

These are the two ideas I had for tomorrow was do either setup a deer push, or somewhere food is plentiful.

I wish I had a spot that I could hunt out of a stand , but unfortunately its been so pressured around here that its not an option for me.

After the first week of gun season in NY ... the deer DO NOT MOVE unless pushed ...so you either gotta still hunt or do drives .... I miss bow season ./..

I agree after the first day of rifle season in NY your lucky to see a deer at night crossing the road let along hunting during daylight

lol sounds like a few guys know NY ....pack your stands up after the first few days of gun season they don't move.

31 days in a row Gun and MZ season is just way too much for the majority of NY state. We are doing ourselves and the herd a disservice.

No bow only zones by you guys? I usually hunt opening weekend of rifle then just stick to bow only zones, nothing against gun hunting I just don't get a better feeling then when I draw back my bow. True LOVE! lol

I hunted Suffolk county for about 10 years and killed my three best NY bucks there. I live close to the Albany bow only zone, hunt it often but access is an issue. It's a small area with heavy hunting pressure around it and in it during the regular season. It doesn't hunt much differently then most of adjacent areas open to firearms.

Nice!!! I live down here in the city and have a house on the East End of Long Island, so I hunt suffolk county as well as upstate NY. Where do you hunt on the island when you do?

Late season is tough on the Public land that I hunt. You really need to put the time in (a lot of it) to kill a late season deer, buck or doe. The odds of me killing a buck this time of year though are slim to none, but a doe will work! Here's the last deer I killed late season (2010). I use CB late season. May I have the same results this evening!
