I have been seeing these hunting ads and I am not sure what I think of them.....Bullets on arrows? [h=1]A Revolutionary New Bowhunting Product[/h] Simply secure your .38 or .357 Magnum round into the Bow-Mag Arrowhead cylinder, turn until the casing threads lock in place, then attach to your standard arrow shaft or crossbow bolt. The Bow-Mag is designed with safety in mind, ensuring that rounds will not fire until they hit your intended target, delivering firepower, Magnum impact and maximum stopping force where you want it.
I bought a pack, just to see what they are all about. Not sure how well the work or what the actual purpose really is. I'm a sucker for gimmicks.
There was thread about this awhile back let me see if I can find it. Here is the thread I was talking about. http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/44511-bullet-arrow-3.html
They seem to be advertising them for pigs, and they have a small game-shot head as well. I think for pigs and the like it's kind of a cool idea. I don't think I would want to take a deer with those, but that's irrelevant because they'd be illegal for deer here in va
Not sure what the point is. If I'm bow hunting I want to kill the animal with my broadhead. If I wanted to kill an animal with a bullet, I'd bring my gun........
Pretty sure they'd be illegal here as well. Think I've read something about no exploding or poisoned arrows.
Agreed. I watched a video of a guy shooting a deer with one of those bullet tipped arrows...I dont get it.
Seems like it would be a pain to get to shoot properly, Bullet head 125-160 grains, powder 4-10 grains, case weight 71 grains, the weight of the bullet holder is unknown, and you screw it on and replace a 100 or 125 grain broadhead? I am guessing upwards of 300 grains. Please, Please, Help!! My field tips and my .38 special arrows won't shoot to the same point, time for another walkback tune. (ha ha )
They are not legal here in WI. The idea is not knew though. It was tried in the past. Stupid then, stupid know.
I don't have any desire to hunt with them, and they aren't legal here. I do think they could be fun to mess around with though. Kind of like Tannerite, no real need for it, but alot of fun.
Maybe if you're planning to film another Jaws sequel, but like the general consensus here I have toa admit I don't see a use for it or a problem to fit the solution. Nice gimmick though, and I am sure it sells big. Definitely a weapon aimed at the hunter's wallet.
