Headed back to the cabin this afternoon. Two deer down so far. I got this doe opening evening. Then Monday morning a did a one man push for my cousin and his son Trey before they had to head home for good. I kicked up this buck and Trey made the best of the opportunity. Had some other opportunities in camp, my dad missed out on shooting a big buck on his way to his ground blind. Other small bucks and does, but not much action. It'll just be myself, brother & dad. My uncle will probably swing out too. Last chance to put some more bodies on the ground.
We ended up with 18" or so. Not sure if I'm ready for the cold, but if it doesn't come the lakes will suck all winter! High of -2 on Saturday with a low of -20. Ready or not, winter is here!
Good luck the rest of the year!! I always enjoy your yearly thread. Maybe one of these days I will be able to stop by and see your resort. I have a good friend who owns/runs a resort in Nevis so I kind of understand your way of life. I usually don't trek too much farther north than Nevis but I occasionally am in the Falls on business. If I am up there in the summer I might look you up :-)
Hoping to check cams tomorrow sometime. The -35* temps yesterday morning should have helped our crappy ice situation Haven't been on the show yet, though Todd & Chase talk about their upcoming trip North in Ep: 10.
Well, despite the high of -4, I made it out to check cams today. Decided to fire up one of Dad's Skidoos Traffic has slowed in many places, but stayed up in others. Check two of my cams, two of my brother's, and Dad's at the dam. Got a number of photos of Buster, but they are all way after dark. Even got him on the Outlet dam
