I'll be back at it Monday. Reports from the Orange team in my hunting area is there ain't much out there. I just might not be so picky after I get back at it.
I am definitely looking forward to getting out and doing a little shotgun hunting this weekend. This will be my mom's second year behind the gun and hopefully she will be able to put one down. Well guys, I'll be back out there again this afternoon after a long break due to rifle season. I have been feeling very guilty for not having contributed. I have had plenty of chip shot opportunities on does but have passed having only one tag this year. I have been debating setting my goals a little lower now with the season getting shorter. That being said, I hope you all will forgive me if I stick to my guns and wait for a decent buck to show up. This year's herd has been very low in numbers so a decent buck may not show but I also hate to take a doe and possible two spring fawns out with the herd the way it is. You all have done a great job and we are still in #1 spot, at least until Fitz gets back and does the calculations. Jake must be keeping track pretty close to know we are losing the spot. In any case I am grateful to be on this team and I'll still be trying to contribute. Hopefully it is soon. It is getting cold and the lake is frozen over. Almost time to break out the ice fishing gear. For now though, first things first. Sitting in a ground blind with my Little Buddy (heater) waiting on the big one. Wish me luck.

My great grandfather was caught hunting the kings land in Czechoslovakia as a young man trying to feed his starving family. they branded his arm to show he was a criminal and sent him to america. He never saw his family again. So for the freedom I have been given by the founding fathers who sought my good and the good of free men! I am thankful!
Happy Thanksgiving!! My wife and I are spending a few days with our Daughter, Son-in-law, and two beautiful Grandaughters. Dinner was excellent as is the company we're keeping. Very thankful for all we have been blessed with!

I've been out twice since rifle season closed an not seen a thing. My trailcams have take 21 pics in a week. All were me coming or going. I'm afraid I'm batting 0 this year. Sorry guys.
Ill be taking the bow out this weekend. Temps are supposed to really drop Saturday and a storm is approaching so it seems like it will be perfect. The odds of me getting a buck are very slim due to our horrible late season plots, but Ill give it a try. Still have late season archery coming in the day after Christmas.
Good luck guys! Stick with it. Seen a couple bucks chasing does yesterday while checking cameras. Today is the last day of our gun season so I'm hoping that some of the bigger bucks will show back up on camera soon.
