Greetings, As the rookie in here, I figure this question may have been asked in the past. I just purchased a 2013 Bowtech Experience. I would like to know what your ideal rest, sight, quiver and accessories you would add if you were building it from scratch. Here's my only criteria: - Mechanical drop down rest - Four/Five pin sight - Four arrow bow-mounted quiver - Nothing electrical due to hunting regulations - Bow is for hunting, not target shooting Thank you in advance for giving your input. I like stuff that's light, rugged and repeatable. Just read a few threads and pay attention to people's SIG lines and you'll see what they prefer. Will you be shooting with the quiver attached or taken off?
QAD HDX arrow rest- flawless Spot-Hogg Sight- bright and indestructible Kwikee Quiver- I do not shoot with my quiver attached so I opted for a more affordable quiver though it is a GREAT quiver I'm not saying these are the only way to go but they are what I use and I don't think I would change them for anything else.
This exactly. Im switching to a qad hdx, i love my spot hogg and i wish i woulda gotten a tight spot instead of my 2 piece hoyt quiver that mounts onto my bow. For a stabilizer i would get a fuse carbon blade hunter, prob the 8.5"

I would definitely go with the QAD Hdx. I went with the ripcord and I wish i spent the extra $30 or whatever to get the QAD. As for the other stuff I shoot a G5 Optix Rock Sight (Great sight for the price), a G5 headloc quiver (not the best), and an Octane Balance X stabilizer (I like this a lot, very versatile). Thank you for the inputs thus far. I have been watching folk's post tags to see what they are using, and one thing that I am noticing about threads I read are folks have one piece of equipment, but wish they had purchased a different piece. I did purchase a QAD HDx tonight for $105. I'm pretty well sold on the Trophy Ridge React 5, despite the exposed fiber. I am going to have a bow-mounted quiver -- three or four arrow capacity. I have a two-piece on my Patriot and have been happy with it, but have seen some nice one-piece units with two anchor points and a broadhead shield. I know I need a stabilizer, but I don't want one that's too darn heavy for hunting. I currently shoot 27" Gold Tip XT 5575, and will probably go with them again ... unless I can get a price break on some Easton 400 FMJ's. I've read good reviews on them. I think I'm going to go with those 2" vanes, unless some folks advise against it with the QAD HDx. Am I missing anything?

I'm value oriented. I just spent $800 on a new bow, so I'm not going to put less than average accessories on it. I do believe in value. From what I read, and knowing my capabilities, I'm not going to be buying arrows that have .001 tolerance as I won't extract the benefit from them. If I find a good deal on .003 tolerance, that would be my value point, even though I could probably hear from others that .006 tolerance would work just fine for my abilities. I did check out the Tight Spot quiver and shuddered at the thought of putting a $130 quiver on it. On the other hand, I bought a QAD HDX for $105 that retails for $149. So I can appreciate value. I like the Trophy Ridge React sight, and while I could buy one today for $130, I'm confident if I keep a keen eye I can get one for about $100 this winter. Perhaps that helps answer. I'll pay the money for quality, for certain. I know I could have bought an Experience in great condition for about $675, but the extra $125 ensured I was getting the lifetime original owner warranty, and that is important to me.
Rest- qad hdx, made the right choice Sight- for hunting you may find you dont need that many pins. I favor vertical pins, i have trophy ridge v3 and like it so far. I will likely upgrade in the next few season, possibly the G5 XR2, just cant spend that money on that yet. Stabilzer- i havent tried many, but i have the Nap Apache 8 inch model, i like it. Quiver- i only need my quiver to carry arrows a few hundred yards to my stands and hold them securely while doing so. I have a tru glo quiver and i really like it. I was looking for a quiver than secured the arrow in two areas (end and middle) to prevent them from being knock out.
For a stabilizer id also recommend octane, they have some good models that arent to expensive. They have 5, 7, and 11 inch models i believe. Ive had my octane 7" hunter now for i think close to 5 seasons, ive had it on 3 diff bows and its done the job and only paid $50. Its not to heavy just what your looking for, and i found it balanced every bow well i used it on. FMJs are also great arrows, just love them! Nothin like building a new bow set up eh? Haha gotta love it.
I love the qad hdx, my favourite sight so far is my axcel armortech 5 pin, my favourite stabilizer is my b-stinger pro hunter 12", I will never get rid of that. The only thing I would change is to get a two piece bow quiver to reduce vibration Sent from my HTC_PN071 using Tapatalk
Talk about decisions. I was all prepared to get an Octane measure x ... but read seven bad reviews on Cabelas about the adjuster stripping out after a matter of weeks. I'm thinking there's a lot of good equipment out there, it just depends on how one shoots and personal preference. I'm seeing some really nice bow quivers out there. I was looking at B-stingers today and was wondering to myself if they were just a big long for me to be working it through pine forests. I think all of these inputs are great for me to continue the research. It is fun putting a new bow together.
