Can't wait to see your buck on the scoreboard!!! Picked up my bow this morning and it is once again shooting great! Now just got to find time to get back out in the woods!
I'm just gonna copy/paste a post to sum up my current stance... from Brett's rut thread: I've about had it... I've put a lot of long days on stand this season... whacked a doe in Nov. (which I never do!) out of frustration. I've seen damn near zero in the way of rut activity... mostly in area where what Caleb would call "the TV rut" DOES exist... I've counted over 70 deer (lots of repeats, I'm sure -but a dozen different bucks!) chasing each other all over the hills!! I might give it another go in the AM, but after that... pffft, bring on gun season!! Now, part of that is purely out of frustration... but sheesh! lol... It isn't from lack of effort. I promise you that! :D

Well fellas I put down my first ever buck with a bow tonight! I was hunting a pinch point that had three trails coming together. I got setup about one o'clock this afternoon and had zero movement my first three hours. I heard some footsteps of in the distance so I decided to hit the can call. Ten minutes later this guy came walking in on a string. He settled in at twenty five yards and I let him have it. I am so pumped for this deer. I put in the work and have hunted hard all year. The rut has been weird here and I am happy this guy was cruising. I have the pics for the score card so I just have to tape him out and get it up on the scorecard thread. Thanks guys! I have been at it for three years and I can finally say I got one. They say the first one is the toughest and I agree. It was awesome and my blood is still pumping!

Congrats on a great buck Kansas!!! And way to go on the shotgun doe Max!! I thought I was going to be scheduled to work this weekend, but it's looking like I'll probably have it off One more hard push before the slugs start flyin' on Monday.... GOD, PLEASE BRING ME SOME ANTLERS!!! :D
