Ok. Quandry...tomorrow is first day of rifle season in NC. Do I pack the rifle and bow if I drop an early morning deer? I know probably blasphemous on an archery forum...

I don't want to be out gunned...sounds like a war when its shooting light...I toyed with the idea of hauling both to the stand, but thinking the bow will be in the trunk at the star5.

I feel ya, I hate rifle. Especially around here. It's like GD world war 3 an deer are weary for what seems like forever after it so 2nd season archery is almost pointless. If it's open as in a field, opening with light cover or anythin that ain't think as crap their full tilt. An stalkin is a no go, their up an runnin an you ain't stoppin em.

I had six doe at around 30-40 yards tonight but I couldn't take a shot. After my Monday morning failure this week I'm nervous about not taken a good shot from a clear shootin lane. Tomorrow is my last shot. An I have a feelin it's gonna end how it started....empty handed

Take a good shot, but you miss 100% of the shots not taken. Good Luck!

Can't speak for everybody else, but I'm working like a dog. I was going to take Mon as a vacation day and hunt, but had to fly to NYC....

Sorry I haven't been on here much. I got kicked off my primary spot on Monday after having one of the best mornings I've ever had. Some neighbors complained that their kids might get shot (gotta love the paranoid people of massachusetts) and the landowner agreed. Things are looking pretty bleak for the rest of the season but I've got a few smaller spots that are hit or miss.

So here is my FML day. A couple of my kids were out last night so the dogs thought they needed to let me know when they got home @ 12 and 2:30am. The neighbors across the street roll up about 3am hootin and hollerin-guess it was a bachelor party. My alarm is set for 4am, or so I thought. 6:01 my phone says when I looked at it....SCRAMBLE! Made a few sammies, got a drink, through all the stuff in the vehicle that I couldn't load the night before as the kids had the cars. Can't find the harness tether grabbed one off another harness. Get to the woods an hour after shooting hours, by now the shooting is minimal. People in my spots. Found a spot saw nothing, except hunters. Hear a shot from my goto spot at 8:30am. Bailed from that spot at 2pm, went to my goto where the prior hunters are now gone. Need to leave at 4pm to pick daughter at work...doe comes in @3:30pm--missed her.
