Well tonights hunt was a bone burner! I was sitting there getting ready for the movement and next thing I see is the nephew of the owner coming down the edge of the timber on his 4 wheeler. Why you can not see my truck at the entrance as you drive past it and keep going is beyond me. Needless to say I did not see a deer. I will be back at it in the morning.

Arrow got bad penetration too far forward we think. We saw him running real well just now so were callin it non fatal. Back at it now. This time my buddy better hit record on the camera.

And FYI, We have fallen WAY off the pace for the tournament. The top teams are closing in on 1000 points, and we're hovering in the 400's.

Those of you with doe tags...let's drop some nannies!

I want to! I am limited to the ground right now if I do hunt. I will be heading back home next thursday and I will be hunting hard for a few day hopefully taking a couple deer. I will have a doe at some point during the season. I need to find a buck though!

Bow is in the case and the .300 wsm is ready to be fired. I'm gonna get this done early and go back to muleys with the bow for the rest of the weekend. At least that's the plan

Well a little ground shrinkage but I'm happy with him. He's a little busted up and missing a time and the rest of his main on one side.

300 yard shot right through the vitals quartering away and another threw the heart as a follow up shot. Just over 2 mile drag out. Buddy met a little over half way with the frame pack thank god.

Now my buddy has a Muley tag were goin after and I'm gonna try and fill my archery tag too.

Sorry guys. Looks like I am a day late. I filled an antlerless tag for us before the season ended but sadly my buck spot waited a day too long to produce. I sat 3 all day sits to end the season and saw basically nothing. This morning at 9 am I put a home cooked Barnes 30 '06 load through the heart of a decent 8 not 15 yards from the tree I was in the last 3 days. Just wasn't meant to be. Now that I have a buck though I can still hunt bow during late season/ML so we'll see.

I have to get pics from dads phone for scorecard when I leave camp but here is a pic of my rifle buck.

Well boys, I was able to take my MO target buck, Foggy, this morning. Unfortunately for the contest, it was with a rifle during MO's gun season. For the sake of the contest, I wish I would've taken him with a bow, but I'm really happy I was able to take him period. I still have a good buck on the farm in MO and still have my IL tag to fill so there's lots of opportunity to take another with my bow. Here are a few pics of Foggy. 144-6/8". I'll post more pics and tell the story of him when I get a chance but I wanted to share this with you boys first.

Man you guys are smoking deer! No need to feel ashamed, life comes first. When I say we need to smoke deer with bows I'm just playing captain. We have one HELL of a team, regardless of where we end up placing. I've had a blast this year and this is my favorite team that I've ever been member of.

I got to 70 yards on the biggest Muley of my life this morning and his doe ended up busting me. If today goes like it has been there is a good chance of me adding 200+ points by the end of it.
