No because I had 3 already... I did wear the pullover/jacket last weekend when it was 27* and a hard frost, the jacket literally laughed at me for thinking it was cold....
I've never been above 4... Heck yeah it was! Worked out great for the both of us! Now kill something!
Just finished lunch. Had to slum it today with plan white bread on my roast beast and cheese. Perhaps I need to pick up some marble rye. It's the only bread with built in Camo
Just had a pine marten cross 3' behind me while I was typing the last reply. No wonder the red squirrel to my W has been going bonkers.
My Martin buddy just came back across. This time in front of me @ 3 yards with a fat vole in his mouth! Damn I love bowhunting!!
A mink has been playing around here off & on for the last 45 min or so. That's what I love abut this stand. Always something going on.
The wind just switched. My scent is vowing to the dam now. I'd it doesn't change back in 5 minutes, I'm packing her in.
That just might be the last sit in the outlet this year. Still a little ice back there. Could happen once more but I won't hold my breath. Saw the marten for the 3rd time. He was really cruising back and forth. Wind switched a couple more times but I figured what the hey. Most likely won't be back anyways.
Our unit is in the 1-8 DPM range. In our immediate area, we have a few big doe groups, and that brings the big boys around
I'm back up on Whistler's Ridge this calm foggy morning. Will sit the rest of the day. Here's a couple pics from the way in. And the view
Just finished lunch I the stand. Ended up fighting off a cough for the last 5 min. Swallowed my last bite funny. My eyes are watering, but I didn't cough! Very quiet today. Calm but a light breeze just started. With the rain last night the ground is soft and I'm not sure I'll hear them coming. Bleated a little earlier. Might try some grunting & rattling in a bit.
Sounded like I had something coming in from my NW. Heard it walking for 20 seconds or so then nothin. Hoping it stopped to browse rather than catching a more open path and sneaking off. Eyes & ears pealed.
A dead tree 12 yards in front of me just tipped over. Scared the crap out of me! How it survived the winds Sunday night, yet tips over in this dead calm is beyond me.
