I absolutely hate being cold, and yesterday morning finally was my breaking point. I sat in stand with the temps in the upper 20's to low 30's for roughly 4 hours and realized that my Cabelas Dry Plus fleece and the layers I had on just weren't cutting it. I ordered some Cabelas MT050 Whitetail Extreme Gore-Tex Scent-Lox insulated parka and pants in Vertigo Grey along with Merino wool base layers. Bring on the cold. I will have them in time for my vacation starting Nov.8th when I will be living in a tree chasing my new target buck... A main frame 8 point with a kicker and a droptine off his right side.
I'm with you. I can usually handle my body being cold, but my feet are what get to me. I've been thinking about getting those thermacell heated boot inserts or something similar.
When all that comes in and you dress up like that kid from "Christmas Story" you better practice shooting your bow a couple times to make sure your Jacket doesn't hit the string.
Where were you hunting at? It has been in the low 60's in central Ohio the past 4-5 days, surly it wasn't P.A.
Yesterday morning it 29 degrees when I climbed in stand here in PA, warmed up to the mid 30's when I left and then got warm in the afternoon. I'm in stand now and it is hot, 65 degrees.
pretty sure i have that jacket, I absolutely love it. but it will be TOO warm for another 4-6 weeks at least.
