Hunted the first few days holding off for the weekend ain't seen much from my cams they're all comin in at night
Congrats guys! Long story short, I've seen a lot more squirrels than deer. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather coming this weekend.
I'm going this evening again, hoping to see a buck that the neighbors saw drinking from the lake right before sundown. I call him the perfect 8. A good first buck for the season. Good luck to everyone this weekend.
OMFG!!! There's some mother ^%$^%$# ing kid riding his 4 wheeler all over the property next door!!! Grrr!
Good luck this morning fellow Oklahomans. This feels like the first perfect morning of the year. Oh and Go Pokes!! And best of luck to the Sooners Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Saw a opossum walking in and almost got smacked in the head by a hawk sitting in the tree. Didn't see anything else. Think it was too windy. Anyone else fair better?
I wore my early season camo this morning, mistake, froze my schwanz off and didn't see a dang thing. Tonight i'll gonna try and make myself sweat will all the layers lol. My wife has been missing me so much for the last few days she made me cinnamon rolls and a cup of coffee when I got home and sat on my lap till I warmed up this morning. I think I'm going to hunt more, lol.
This little fella was under my stand before I got there checked my cams today he came through at 5:07 am not the same pic but it was blurry
Ugh, it's 130 in the morning, I went hunting tonight. That only means one thing. Bad shot. I drew on another doe tonight, I wasn't jittery or juiced at all, I was calm, picked a spot, had to lean a little bit to my right (lefty) to get the shot i wanted, as I was leaning my stand shifted to the right just as I released. Arrow hit right, rear hindquarter. Waited 30 minutes, got down, went home, came back an hour later. No blood, nothing. I walked a little further into the woods and jumped her. Watched her with the binoculars until she bedded down. Hopefully she will be there first light tomorrow, hopefully expired, if not i'll make the kill. 5 and a half more hours till sun up, gonna be a loooong night/
Sucks dude, hope you find her. I can't sleep tonight at all. Checked the cam today and had an absolute giant, pushing 170 inches. Needless to say I can't stop thinking about walking under my tree in roughly 5-6 hours
Awesome! I'd rather be walking into the woods with hope instead of dread lol. I can't even imagine a 170" deer in real life, i'd probably be "Aww f^% it's just a cow." and look away, lol. It's 5 now and i've still got 2 more hours before it even makes sense to go look for her. Been sick all night.
Well I didn't find a dead doe, I did find my arrow, it barely penetrated past the broadhead. When I lost my balance the string hit my arm and took away most of the energy. I jumped her on my way back to the Jeep she was barely limping and I got her on trail cam last night and then at 7am. On another note I hunted the 209 acres this morning. Saw the biggest deer i'd ever seen from a stand, a nice 8 point 3.5 maybe 2.5 year old. THEN I saw a freak deer with one wide spike on one side then a 4 on the other. He looked older so he's on the list!!! I'm so fortunate and blessed to be able to hunt so much this year in God's State!!
Saw a group of 11 deer mixed does and fawns, too far away from my stand. Waited till complete dark and got out b/c they bedded down 80 yds away.
