I was in the tree all weekend for about five hours each sit. I am curious if any of you ever get bored while sitting in your tree? I broke down and brought my iPhone in the Treestand with me. I was lucky tonight we had two visitors: Vern (porcupine) and Freddy (raccoon).

What do you do while sitting in your Treestand not to get bored and hold your attention?

NHL, NFL or netflix on my phone, keeps me entertained for the early part of the sit (no sound of course). Once I have an hour and half of daylight left all eyes on the field or timber..

I've never brought anything with me bow hunting. When gun hunting I sometimes bring a crossword puzzle book. Maybe I will bring my ipod out next time and play some games or whatever.

Take a nap, sometimes bring my phone and play games but mostly I just sit and listen and try to relax and take it all in. When I get antsy I stand a stretch a little. I also go over all possible shots I could take and how far the are from the stand. I guess different ranges and then check to see how close I was with my range finder.

Angry birds. I'm superstitious and when I started playing it in stand a few years back I felt I saw more deer. I have to get three stars on a map before I can see deer. 60% of the time it works every time!

I take it all in and enjoy every second. I look forward to it all year round, and when I do get a little bored during all day rut sits, I take a quick power nap!

HUH?!?!? we go to the woods to get away from them! lol just kidding. I always afraid I'll miss one sneaking by, whitetails in the southeast are trained ninjas. Remember one year I was playing angry birds (TroyS) hunting in a ground blind, looked up and a buck was standing so close to the side window I could of spit on em. Didn't even notice he had walked up....I'm telling ya.......Ninja's.

Had something similar like this. Was also playing angry birds. For over 4 hours my buddy that was hunting 100 yards down hill of me watched a 155inch 10pointer bed 40 yards from me, for those 4 hours he watched this buck stand up stretch and then lay back down. About 10-20mins before shooting light ended he stood up and cruized right past me. I completely missed my opportunity... Wish my buddy would of text me he was around.

I never get bored while hunting. I am on the watch for anything and use the time to think about a lot of things.
