i like stand warmers. I've got deer activity around acorns and i hope to get a doe or a nice 120 inch deer i was getting pictures of
Bow doesn't start until Sept 27th up in northern NY and a few days later to the south. Haven't seen a whole lot, some good size tracks, but the camera's only picked up a doe so far. We need to move it around a little bit.
Anyone else feel like they're not prepared for the season? Maybe its because this is my first year bowhunting, but Holy Cow, do I feel rushed!
not at all. i try to get outside when it is nice all year long and take some practice shots. keeps you loose ready. though my prep has not been that good this year due to work but i should have no problems. then again, hunting is never a sure thing you won't know anything for sure until hunt day. main point is to go out and do it.
Sounds like i have the latest start of everyone so far. Illinois doesn't open till Oct. 1st. Not so much rushed as much as not sure what to do next. I need to move my stand, get my 50 and 60 yard pins set (no way I'll ever take that shot this year), re-fletch 3-4 arrows, get a fall food plot going, and make sure my pack is still packed.
Just want to say real quick, our biggest rival is going to be team 2 (woodland warriors) as far as i can tell. My name is Mike, my dad Tom (short69) is on that team.
bad news for me. shooting today and my limb cracked. season starts oct.1 but it cuts into my practice which I need bad. camera's got me pissed too. so three out of five videos complete white. other two have a squirrel and one a opossum
OUCH !!!!! Do you have a back up or going to have to repair Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
I guess we still need to decide on El Capitain And a team name Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Looks like either grizz or fish .. Unless I missed someone. You guys just want to work that out I honestly don't care what we call ourselves but we should have a name(:should we just let the new captain pick one .. Kind of an executive decision And last thing is we still are four members short How long do we want to or should we wait before calling for replacements Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
captain should be person with most posts just my thought. yes we also need to get the list of possible team names also
going to bring it into the shop and see if they can get a part. brought it in already because the limb was bent. they said all i needed was a new string and now i might have to wait on a part. I'm afraid i won't have time to practice between school and farm work. just having one of those days
Tough break on that bow, good luck getting her back up and running. Thats always been a fear of mine right before season opens. If no one else wants it, I'll volunteer for Captain. We still need a team name....so far we've gotten: Swamp Donkeys Leftovers The Replacements Mr. Irrelevants Stick and String Stepkids No Show Hereos Inglorious Buckterds Stand Warmers I vote for "Leftovers." By the way I'm Craig, 35 years old, live in South Central MN but do all my hunting in the southeast part of the state. I work for the MN DNR and have been bow hunting 19 years. I've been on the winning team for this contest twice, so I bring some real experience to the table (read complete sarcasm). Once we have a name, anyone good at making avatars?
I leave for Colorado on Thursday to chase elk so I wont be around much if at all the next 2 weeks. Here's some of the pics I've been getting this year. If I've learned anything, all trail camera pics do for me is get me to stay on stand that extra hour when I'm cold wet and my feet are froze. They've never meant bucks on the ground for me so far.
With over 900 post .. I vote Craig Nothing against anyone else The leftovers also get my vote Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Obsessed Bowhunter checking in. Just checked my messages and saw that I was on a team. I live in S.E.Ky and always take the first week of November for my vacation. I have a 160+ buck running around close to my home. My father in law's dog brought one side of his shed home earlier this year. I will try to post a pic if I'm able to. Season opened here September 7 but I haven't gotten out yet. This one side grossed 70 3/8"
