I haven't touch a thing in my small lots I am hunting down here in the S.E. corner of the state. I decided I will not go in until I'm ready to hunt a stand. Just even putting a game cam in with these areas can spook them easily. Hang to kill! Now as for the western part of the state I have 4-5 real good shooters I will be after. Good luck and be safe!
Peak you better call me when you get one down in this area. Would love to come help you find and drag it out!!!
jfergus7 you beat me to it. Peak too welcome the opportunity to come help capture your recovery and your kill and get it out of the woods. Good luck!
Rolling out at 0200 to meet my hunting buddy and make the 2.5 hour drive to argyle. We have two new stands in an section of heavy cover we just received permission to hunt. Will hit other stands in the morning and slide into the new stands for afternoon/evening. Good chance of rain on Saturday. I want to be in there as soon as it stops.
I'll be headed to shawano county for the opener, unfortunately the late spring seems to have taken a toll on antler growth. Some bucks I thought would be great didn't put on the bone I expected. Currently don't have a bucks I'd rather shoot than pass but hope something shows up. Need to take out some does either way! Good luck to all this weekend!
Hopefully will be getting my first archery deer this Saturday. Not sure I'll make it out for a morning sit, as I think I'll have to work, but I have a good spot in mind for an evening sit. Have been seeing deer in this spot for years in the evening, and never bowhunted until this year.
Heading to Waupaca County on Saturday! Hoping that I can put down one of the bucks that I have on camera.
I'll be in Jefferson County for opening day. Got a pretty good buck that's been showing up on camera almost every night between 5:30-7:00. Hope he continues his pattern for another couple days! Good luck, everyone!
I used to hunt directly south of Argyle, near Freeport IL. For some reason, it sure seems like the deer are bigger in Argyle. Let me know where you'll be at, we always eat a late breakfast in town.
I'll start in Waukesha County and eventually head up to Adams County later in the season towards the rut. Unfortunately, I have to work opening day so hopefully while I'm sitting there dreaming of being in the stand, I'll see posts of some nice deer you guys got. I'll try not to be too jealous.
