Blade is an AWSOME buck! No hitlist bucks for me yet, but this big ol' corn eater is at the top of my list for now.

Good to see ya Dave. :) Always wanted to be on the big buck slayers team!

Sorry for rolling in so late guys, just finished up a busy summer logging season/scouting and raising two boys. Back to teaching school now and killing big whitetails. I have an exciting year ahead of me with Nextbuk Outdoors. Hunting my home state of Idaho, near by Washington and Iowa in November for whitetails. Really looking forward to it all! Nice to meet all the new guys and nice to see some of my old buddys here on the same team. I will be in a tree hunting velvet bucks FRIDAY a.m.!

Jealous of your hunting Friday already. A big velvet buck would be a dream for me. I was hunting an Indian reservation in Nebraska several years ago and stuck a nice 10 pt. that had just shed and still had tatters. Two minutes later I have a 150's perfect 10 in full velvet walk up and stand at 10 yards broadside. I wanted to jump out of the tree. That was the only opportunity I ever had.

Hope you didn't curse me with that buck slayer comment! lol

Good luck and hope to see you in November. Safe hunting....

Hey guys....on my Thermacell I have used the regular scent. Has anyone used the Earth scent pads? Just wondered. Found a great deal on some. Thanks!

They make scented pads? Do they still prevent the bugs?

The main farm I've been hunting has 220 acres of woods and I only hunt a small portion of it. This year I plan to use my Ol' Man to get out and cover more of it during the early season. I think I have the bucks figured out. They are staying on the north end feeding in the alfalfa at night. The power company cut a rightaway early in the spring that gives me easy access to where I can intercept them between their bedding area and the alfalfa.

Sounds like everyone is doing good and getting excited about the upcoming season. I've been hunting some and only seen a few does(can't shoot does until sept. 15th). Killed 2 pigs last week and got all our fields bush hogged and a few plowed. Trying to get some seeds in the ground next week and then waiting a while till I load the rest of the fields with oats. Fitz, the sig looks great.
