I am new to bowhunting. I found an Ameristep Non-Typical climbing treestand on Craigslist for a good price. What do I need to look at before buying it? I want to make sure its safe, and that its not stolen property. Also, is this particular model a good model? Thanks in advance for all of the advice!
Or it could mean the dude is just really out of shape. I would go with the x-ray for stress fractures and hairline cracks. I took the one I bought off e-bay to the immediate care facility just down the road to have it done. Although I am not sure why I did that because it cost more to have the x-ray then it did to buy one new. Obviously I am just messing with you. Look it over for blatant issues and go with it!
^^^ lmao I was gonna say, this guy is joking right lol....ya I would go look it over real good, an make sure it comes with ALL the right parts!
With few exceptions I would hate to see a new hunter get involved with a climber. You will be learning so much the way it is, I would rather see you buy a new hang on with climbing sticks that is affordable and roll with that the first year. You need to understand the trees will not be perfect in diameter, straight up and down, etc. You can read books and watch you tube videos on this part of the hunt, but you really need to gain the experience in the field to be totally safe.
I had to laugh at this, and then look at your pic to see if you work with me. We do this kind of overkill inspection on welds all the time. That said, look for any rust spots around welds, or damage/bends in tubing, and stay from that. Look the straps over, and use any defects there to talk the price down (you will want to replace those anyway just for peace of mind).
I mean you really wouldnt know if it is stolen so as long as it is in decent shape go for it if its the stand you want
Well, called the guy, set up a time, and then he text me that it was sold to someone else... 50 bucks for a 280 dollar climber. Stupid work getting in the way!!!! Ugh!! Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk 4
