The whole to many on a team thing is gonna be a bit lame an the fact that IMO 25 posts don't make you an "active" member hell I could make 25 posts in the next half hour. I just feel too many aren't gonna participate an that's kind of a big deal to me. Why waste people's time if ya don't plan on actually participating. Just my honest opinion though. Can't say I'm lookin forward to it but can't say I'm not either. Just wish it was a little more exclusive.

Well, I can't speak for any other new members but I'll do my part as much as I can. I can't guarantee I'll take any animals but I will be an active member and have been since I found the forum. I expect I'll add at least a doe or two to whatever team I get assigned to. I'm picky as hell when it comes to bucks and have fairly high standards but there are plenty of nice ones around me.

As far as members who get placed and don't participate, I don't really know how to fix that except to raise the posting qualification. I suppose the site admins can split the contest into two according to ranks and have one contest for the older members (higher post count) and one for the lower post counts. But don't feel bad if a team of lower post counters kicks your arse, lol. Which I'm not saying will happen but would be epically funny.

I honestly don't have many posts but I've been an active member since I signed up.... I think the contest is a good opportunity to talk to fellow hunters and get tips and to help yourself harvest an animal.

Why? So that your only paired with a "cool and winning team"? Thats not the point of this contest.

No I could careless who the cool crowd is bro? I just don't wanna be put on a team that ill be the only participating member of. Winning is the absolute least of my worries, hell I'm not even sure how much ill be able to hunt. So pull your panties outtake bunch an take a chill pill.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I suspect the admin are familiar enough with the members here and responsible enough to place teams in such a way that no one will get stuck with an entire team of slacker dolts. I'd also expect teams to be structured so not all the guys who have mega bucks on multiple properties will all be on the same team. An all KS or Ill. team or all IA or all NE team probably wouldn't be fair to folks from the northeast or southwest.

Teams that are lop sided either way would suck and make winning a totally arbitrary event.

With the exception of last years teams, it's all random.

It does suck getting put on a team that doesn't have people to produce. Luck of the draw I suppose.

What changed last year and how are they doing it this year?

I don't care how it ends up, just for chits and giggles anyway isn't it. Or is there a treasure chest in store for the winners?

What he is referring to is the winning team from last season returns in tact, the rest of the teams are assigned by random draw.

Oh okay, the way it was worded sounded like they changed the process last year.

I don't care about prizes, I'm here for the discussions and comradery. A little competitiveness is always fun too.

It's not really that hard to check in every couple days and get to know your team. Alot of us have smart phones these days, so you can even check in from the tree!

Is this the highest number of contestants for one year we've had?
