If you could buy a vacation property anywhere you wanted, where would it be? Why? The key word is "vacation" here, not hunting property.

Ok, let's say both. I can't make that criteria, so lets say one of each. (It may be the same place for both answers.)
I reserve the right to change these if I thought about it more but off the top of my head would be Straight up vacation- Florida Because it would be nice to have a place to go during the long winters. Also plenty to do in Florida. People tend to be Midwest like (at least since the last time I've been there) Other considerations- minoqua or three lakes/eagle river Just beautiful up there with plenty of boating and fishing to do. Somewhere in the Rockies. Maybe near Boulder. Because there is a ridiculous amount of amazing beer brewed out there to go along with outdoor activities year-'round. Hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, hunting, golfing, kyaking, rafting, etc, etc, If I had to choose a seasonal spot for a few winter months, probably St. Maarten or one of another handful of Caribbean Islands that have amazing beaches and fishing like Aruba or the BVI's. Incredible snorkeling, diving, food, hiking, sailing, and LOTS of rum.
Id go for a lake front house somewhere in port clinton, catawba island, or marblehead ohio. I worked for a duck hunting club up there and i absolutely love it. This was the view from my back porch, i mean how could you NOT love it?!!
Probably a small cabin in Wisconsin, tucked away deep in the woods right next to a river. Of course my wife may have an opposing point of view. Blessings.........Pastorjim
Lake Crescent, Washington - there are only like 5 houses on the entire lake. It is surrounded by Olympic National Park. or Costa Rica, specifically the Pacific side on the Osa Peninsula, away from the tourism hot spots
I love the mountains, hiking, skiing, exploring and just the beauty of it. Add the hunting opportunities it's paradise, I know you said not hunting but I would go there not to hunt to.
For me, I would love to have a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, absolutely love Gatlinburg and the scenery there up in the mountains.
Realistically, me, my brother, and my Dad are currently looking at properties either in northern Arkansas (the Ozarks) or on Toledo Bend Lake. Trying to decide if we would rather a house lake with small acreage, or large acreage (200+) in a more remote area of the Ozark mountains. I'm for the Ozarks as long as the property borders a river or has a decent stream for fishing purposes, but both of them seem to be leaning towards the lake house.
I would love a spot in a remote location on the Gulf Coast (if that exsists) where I could do inshore and offshore fishing as well as enjoy the beach.
Since I'm fortunate enough to have access to a cottage on a great lake in Ontario (parents), and plenty of hunting ground here locally, I would probably pick something more family and wife oriented around NC or SC on the coast for purely recreation purposes.
