http://beman.com/products/ics-bowhunter/ i just bought my bow, and got these arrows in the package. how are they? they are 400 grain. also what kind of broadheads should i put on these grain wise? I just got into hunting and dont really understand all the tech lingo.
What Poundage is your Bow, and draw length? I've used Beman arrows in the past, I had the ICS hunters 340s and they were great arrows.
I have a dozen of the same arrows and I like them a lot! I use them when I turkey hunt. Beman makes very good arrows!!! CG
my DL is 29 and i believe the DW is set to the minimum so 50. also how does your draw length equate to the size of the arrow you need?
The 400 on the side refers to spine, not weight. Thqt means their deflection is .400 when a particular weight is hung in the center between 28". The arrows are fine, just need to do a quick check of a spine cgart to see if they are close to what you need. sent from my samsung note 2
With these specs, the .400 should be good. Longer draw usually requires a longer arrow and a longer draw yields more energy to the arrow. Both require a stiffer spine. sent from my samsung note 2
I have shot those Bemans, IMO they are just OK nothing to write home about but certainly shootable. I don't think they are as tough as some of the other arrows on the market. My .02
I know camofire will be selling FMJ's tonight but 500 spine only. Not sure if my bow can handle that.
Check out the easton bloodlines in .400. You will not want the fmj .500s. Like tfox said, you want to ensure they are spined properly. As for broadheads, since you're shooting lower poundage, look for a good cut on contact, fixed broadhead. The G5 montecs fit this role nicely. I really like the muzzy mx-3s a lot, they should do fine for you as well, and they're very cost effective.
