(this is a little long so bare with me)

I was trading a yearly fishing trip for the rights to hunt. Well, come to find out the owner (cousin of the fishing trip recipient) knew nothing about me hunting on her property. I get a call telling me that a certain person REMOVED one of my most obvious stands. I call said person and he tells me the owner (his cousin) called him and told him to go check out the property. With that being said...

I finally get in touch with the owner and arrange a meeting. I show up and the stand remover is there and he obviously whats to hunt the land, being a relative, the guy is acting like it is his right. I keep my cool and yes maam and yes sir the owners. I could tell that the woman is being a little cold to her cousin. While the guy is regaling her with old family storys. Her husband and I strike up a conversation. Come to find out we have a lot in common, NASCAR (he is also a Carl Edwards fan), Bow Hunting, and Drag Racing. She turns to me a one point and says "Art, I have had numerous request's to lease this land and I have always told them I only let family hunt it". My heart sunk to say the least. Her next words were "but we have decided to lease it to you"!
You could have knocked the cousin over with a feather! He gets mad and leaves. So, here I am thinking she is going to want a small fortune for a lease payment! (insert drum roll here) And I ask "Miss Gynn how much do you want for the lease)..............

And she says "one dollar should cover it"!!!!!! ONE DOLLAR!!!! But you have to carry insurance on it.

Can anyone direct me to an insurance company. Its a 100 acres and some of the best hunting property around!

Thank you Lord, for you have truly blessed me on this one!

You done GOOOOD! I'm no help on insurance either. If you have an insurance agent for home or car, I'd start by asking them. If they can't insure you they should recommend someone.

No clue on insurance, but congrats on the lease! I would still keep an eye out for the cousin if it were me.

    Thanks, she made MY year!

Thanks for the heads up on my agent. I'll call her Monday.

I will! There is more to the story but, I thought I would keep it simple.
I did make him return my climber! He took it home!

I would never do a damn thing with Buckmasters for any reason. That company Jackie has put together is a bunch of scum if you ever deal with them expect your phone to ring several times a day for the rest of your life.

Very true, the calls were relentless for a long time. Just happened to pop into my head though when responding to the thread topic.

Yep. I made that mistake, too. I don't believe I'll be doing any more business with them

She wants me to clear around the old homestead. I was gong to get a bulldozer and do some clearing anyway. This is one rich and very nice Lady! I don't think she wants my money!

It won't be Buckmasters...they want everyone in the club (even though its just me for now) to have a buckmasters membership before they will insure it! I could be wrong on this but, I think guests have to be members as well!

Thank you. It borders an old hog farm (900 acres) that is posted and owned by the state of Florida.
