Now that were getting close be sure to take another look at the rules. Would hate for one of us to take down a big ol gobbler and not have it count cause we don't have a pic. Has anybody here hunted in the past few weeks? Ill be going up this week end for some light scouting.
still hunting, had a good chance last sunday. damn deer crashed in when at draw and ready to release. i just packed it up and went home, birds were long gone. back at it this weekend
Good luck Steve. It's getting close for me. Hopefully the weather improves here in IL. It's cold and supposed to rain for the next week. Hard to get great film when it's pouring rain so I really need things to improve by the weekend of the 20th.
Ill be out Sat and Sun. Hope to get the job done but haven't been around to see I the birds are chirpin. I have a few cams setup to check tomorrow late afternoon so hopefully I see some Toms and game make a quick game plan. Wish me luck! Swing and a miss boys. Would like to throw all the excuses out there possible but simply mid-judged the distance an gave the bird a belly rub. Still have this upcoming weekend and the birds are around just not responding to calls much. I'm hoping to have a better update by this coming Sunday...
Played hooky and went out on opening day which was Monday for me. Set up a blind on Sunday that was pretty promising but in the morning it didnt produce. Went out and found a flock in the afternoon and couldnt get em to respond but got some good ones spotted and hoping to make it happen this weekend before my short season ends...
Well boys I've been after them for the past 5 days and I've had some great encounters. The birds have been completely call shy and have not closed into shooting range yet. Still have 2 more tags available, so I'm hoping something changes.
My seasons over and I just couldnt connect. Birds were call shy and just way to jumpy. Had 2 good toms and a jake coming in when a fox busted me and had a few other chances but just couldnt make it happen
