Well thanks to one of ISiman4/OH threads on shot gun mics I made the order and got a Audio Technica PRO 24-CM, it showed yesterday just in time for turkey hunting this weekend.
Nice. How do you like the bracket for the mic? Im looking for a bracket so i can put on a mic like that and still attach my camera arm.
I'm still deciding on an external mic or not, I just don't want the chance of the batteries going dead or forgetting to turn it on. Then I have a video with no audio.
so far the only complaint about the bracket is it being to big on the bottom but im going to do some easy modification and cut it so its shorter and doesnt stick out so far on both sides. I made sure that i would be able to use it with my tripod and camera arm. ya i know what you mean on that, i didnt really get to play with it yet or read the instuctions that come along with it but i did notice it has the option to run off of your camera battery. Once I get some time to mess around with it a little more Ill give you a update
That would be awesome, I know that some cameras can run the power to te mic and some can't. Just wish I knew which category my camera went under.
Ya i will be testing it out this weekend hunting in kentucky so i will be able to give you a good review by the time i get home. What camera do you have I will take a look and see if it says anytthing about it in all the papers that came with it.
You could check out this mic, its a little expensive but it attaches to the back of your camera and it wont drain your battery it runs off your camera so you dont need to put a battery in it to run it. Sorry the link didnt copy over. Here it is. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...002_DM_100_Directional_Stereo_Microphone.html
I wanna go that route but the price is just a tad too much. I can't stand to pay more for a mic then I did for the camera.
I run the same mic on my canon. Batteries are 10 buck for 3 which is 3 years worth of batteries. You can get a small clean bracket for like 8 bucks on Amazon. com
the bracket i got was only $12 and it would work on your camera, like i said its a little wide but not to bad and with a quick modification it can be fixed. Plus it has two spots for attachments http://www.campbellcameras.com/shop...t-Angle-2-Cold-Shoe-Bracket__301bowva320.aspx
Right. A lot of the stuff they have is over priced. Im going to get an extra battery for my camera before the season starts but right now im good.
