Checking in fellas! My name is Jeff carpenter, I live in southeast Kansas. This will be my 2nd season chasing gobblers. I got one with my shotgun last year as I wasn't setup to hunt em with a bow. This year I purchased a barronett grounder 350 blind, avian x hen decoy, and have improved my calling a lot. We're seeing good birds already and they appear to be using the same roost locations as years past. The only difference now is that we've got 120 acres of wheat planted near the roosts along our creek bottom. I'm hoping to see some great strutting action on these green fields and put down my first gobbler with a bow. My season is going to be shortened with a few wedding and bachelor party engagements, but I've got some hunting time planned out in mid April so hopefully I can get it done. I'm thinking about shooting spitfires or killzones at my bird this spring. Anyone have previous experiences on gobblers with these? I know they'll kill deer, any other heads I should look at for turkey that are compatible with deep 6 inserts? Good luck to all, and I'm looking forward to following your seasons!
Checking in! My name is Nate Simmons, I live in Central/ West Central Wisconsin. I will be hunting near Chippewa Falls. I have hunted turkey quite a few years. I have never gotten one with my bow yet and I am excited for the challenge. I have a new bow coming next week and I will have to get that all set up ready for the birds. I will be putting out some cameras this weekend on some new hunting land I got permission on. I hope to share some pics with you all. I am planning to buy tags for two seasons here in Wisconsin for extra time at a the birds. I have not had any experiences with the spitfires or killzones on birds. I am still debating to what I want to use for broad heads. I bought a backer that goes behind your broadhead a few years ago. I have not used it on a bird but it sure does leave a number on a target. I do like the of magnus bullheads and having a bright red target to aim at with a head shot instead of a body shot. checking in. Will be hunting south east Iowa on a new lease I just acquired this year. Went out Saturday and did some scouting and got my blind set up. Season Opens April 15th here. Be first year Bowhunting Turkey, but have shotgun hunted a good bit. Usually hunt with a buddy and we switch between hunting and calling for each other. Really allows us to set up on a bird good. I like thanksgiving day preppers, nicely done! I see that we do have one missing, Ill check into it and see if he has been on lately. It looks as if a lot of the teams are still missing memebers.

My favorite two names that we have listed above are: Thanksgiving Day Preppers and Gobblestoppers Does anybody else have any ideas? Should we take a poll on what to chose? When do the team names have to be posted by?
Jeff carp any broahead will work I killed my first bird with a muzzy 100 grain 3 blade. The advantage to shooting a fixed blade is you can leave the shoot through mesh windows in your blind an get away with a little more movement. The key to whatever broadhead ya chose is to know exactly where they will hit. Pin point accuracy is a very helpful thing when hunting turkeys. The good thing about a expandable is it has longer blades that deploy an even with a slightly off shot placement you stand a good chance of still reaching out to hit something in the vital area. So don't stress about what broadhead to use go with something you know an trust.
