Looks like it's time to kick this thing off. You guys may know each other, but I don't think that I've talked to you before. Tell a little about yourself and what you expect this season.

I'll start off. My name is Jacob and I am gonna be trying to get my first spring bird with a bow. I'm good for birds with the shotgun, but it's gonna be bow or nothing for me this year. I have several good places to hunt turkeys, so hopefully it won't be a problem for me to get my first spring longbeard with the bow this year.

Carnivore1 checking in. I live and hunt in NE Kansas. Have some great places to hunt. I have hunted turkeys with a bow before, but usually get frustrated and pick up the gun. This year, I am gonna stick with it until I skewer one. Looking forward to a good year, if the fall was any indication, should be plenty of birds to mess with. Good luck guys.

Guamhunter checking in. I'm in the panhandle of Florida. I'll be hunting new territory this year. I havn't seen any turkey this year but there are tracks everywhere. Our season started yesterday without a single gobble. Looks to be a challenging season but I'm game. Nock 'em and slock 'em. Good luck team.

Looks as if I'm the last one to check in. My name is Kyle and I live in Northern Wisconsin. My season is April 17- 23 in West/central Wisconsin. I'm hoping to get an extra tag or two for other periods and units as well.

Well, since we are all checked in and ready to go we need to vote on a team captain and a team name. I hope you guys are better than me with coming up with some names, I'm not too creative.

I'm not sure if its the weather but they've been very silent lately. We've had windy nights which i'm sure had something to do with it. I hunt on a military unit and there have been missions recently but I know they are there. Just not seeing them. I'm hoping to hunt 3 consecutive days at the beginning of next month maybe that'll help. Anyone else go out yet? BTW, one vote-snake_03 for captain.

Headed to listen for birds in the morning and maybe do a little shed hunting. It should be nice. I'd like to get some birds pinpointed now that they should be getting broke up from their winter flocks. What's everybody else up to?

I also went out to pinpoint some birds this weekend. They seem to be using the same places as usual. So hopefully, success will come quickly. I won't be able to get out until next week, but our season runs through the end of may, so I have plenty of time.
I like Team Beard trimmers by the way.

So....what is everybody up to? I saw several strutters yesterday morning and they have been gobbling like crazy. We open up the 15th, so we should hit it about right. Hopefully I will be able to get one pretty quickly. I'm gonna take my wife with me first thing and hopefully we get two birds to come in right away, but if not she gets first shot on singles. I don't know why I agreed to that. Anybody else been seeing much recently?

It's been a rough time hunting so far. All that I've seen is jakes so far and and nothing has been gobbling. I am headed out in the morning to a different property so hopefully I will have some better luck. Good luck everybody.
