I was thinking of using corn! but if there's a better way of getting them on camera ill do whatever y'all say works! thanks!
Yup - Corn, or black oil sunflower seed.....if you don't want all the squirrels, tweety birds, and for that matter the turkeys cleaning it all up in a matter of 2 hours then get one of the blocks...I found they like the cornlix/sweetlix block(this is just the one we have available here - there are many different brands of the same thing) and usually feed stores also have a poultry block. That'll last for a week or 2 if the deer don't decide to hammer it.
We have been watching the fields the last few morning and there are definitely places they like to hang out where we set cameras. I do also understand not everyone has 10 cameras to set on a field for turkey pictures :D
Corn will work great and keep them there until it's all gone. The downside is that it also attracts coons and keeps them there for hours as well. Blessings.........Pastorjim
My brother has gotten a lot, I mean A Lot of turkey pics in the spring. He looks for where they strut and has a lot of success. I suppose the rest of the year I would look for near roosting sights or bait if you want to go that route.
with them pics you just put covert into the mix on my list for a new cam. an corn is good to keep turkeys around just remember to check state laws on how long bait has to be gone before opening day of turkey season
