    Brilliant, lets spend more money on policy that doesn't work and challenge it in court instead of arming schools and soliciting funds for mental health.

    You don't know much about Wyoming do you?? :-) They are one of the richest states in the lower 48 with their huge coal, oil and gas reserves.... If Wyoming 'dropped' off the grid, people in many of the eastern states would be wondering why their lights are going out (no more coal to power your plants) and why gas is skyrocketing even further... I would say it's safe to say, from a resources standpoint, WY probably is one of the richest states....

    And South Dakota could be the richest per capita country in the world if they would drill despite the Feds legislation to the contrary. Its coming folks... one by one, states willing to say we don't need you... you need us.

    They take in more federal money then they pay in tax revenue.

    It great they have all those natural resources, but those are own(mostly) by private companies.

    We are talking about tax revenue a state brings in.

    Alaska rocks also, they are dead last.

    Maybe... But right now we are just a really poor state with nothing more than good pheasant hunting to offer the union... :-)

    If nothing else, when states makes comments\threats like this, it's got to make Obama understand he is going to have one hell of a fight on his hands if he cuts too deep on this....

    don't forget about the massive influx of people that would move there if that bill allowed them to keep their guns.

    It doesn't sound much different than having a state law legalizing pot while there is a federal law against it. And I haven't seen much backlash against CO yet. I wish more state officials had the balls to stand up to the feds.

    48% of that state is owned by the federal government so they really wouldn't lose out.

    48% of the land is owned by the joint corporation of the people of the United States called the Federal Government. The government itself owns nothing.

    That means nothing if the Feds cut funding to the state. The feds dont have to spend a dime to maintain any of the land or roads they own if they decide not to. Not sure I follow your thinking here?

    It might cause states to start spending only what they are capable of bringing in.

    Guys think a little bit here.

    Interstate hwy, who is going to fund the up keep?
    Border patrol sucks, but is not cheap, so all you border states get ready
    Miltary? is each state going to have their own?
    What about the Navy? No Navy?
    NASA? All those satellites in the sky that make your life easier, who controls them?
    Internet Secruity? Each state will have their own?
    National Parks? What happens to them, I know lets turn those over to private business, wasted land and chance to make some coin and create jobs.

    You misinterpreted my statement. It would be great if the states did not rely on federal money to close gaps in their budgets. But established budgets they can fund themselves.

    Ok, got it. I am shocked all of these fiscal conservatives in all these states controlled by the "Smaller Government" party need federal money;)

    I dont think most of us have any clue how much we depend on government funds on a daily basis. I have no problem paying taxes for that reason. I only have a problem with the waste, fraud, and abuse. I also have a problem with the "tax the rich" mantra.
