No more action all night. Really quiet. One of those nights where I could hear my clothes move when I breath. Anxious to check my other camera tomorrow sometime.

Can't wait until I get my first sit in the snow, this weekend looks to be the first possible chance albeit low. Christmas'ish looks better.

Curious though, are you tethering a laptop while in stand or something? Wondering how you're getting the trailcam images uploaded.

I've had that happen and I thought it was movement. Then I realized it got more intense and when I held my breath to listen closely, it stopped! :busted: :bash: Good thing, I could have shot myself.

Not sure how the hunting will go the next few days. We have a couple cabins checking in tomorrow & Saturday, and my mom & sisters are comming up Sat for Christmas. I'm still gonna try to get out a couple times, but not sure if it'll happen.

Have a ton to do tomorrow before people show up. A couple breakers popped and the main water line is froze. Hopping it thaws out by the morning. If I can get that done & the rest of my to-do's, I might sit out tomorrow.

I'm a bit deflated though, pulled my camera up on the ridge and there was a spiker that dropped one side and another nicer buck that was bald. I don't think he was one of the big boys, but it could be any day now. I guess we'll have to see.

Is that the norm for your area? That would be a tad early for my area.

Seems a bit early, but certainly not crazy early. I've been worried before that if I got a late season buck, I'd have to avoid dragging him by the antlers.

New stand up on the edge of the ridge near the lake. Not as far up as my other stands. The deer tracks are seemingly closer to the lake than a month ago.

Saw some wolf tracks on my walk across the bay.

Here's the view to my 3 o'clock back towards the bay.

    And here's my 10

And my 7 towards the main part of the lake.

I'm only about 80 yards from our neighbors storage building, "the barn".

Seems funny, but that's where the action appears to be.

I've been finding it harder to motivate myself to get out these days. Partly the cold, partly the long seasons and lack of recent pics of the big boys.

Not sure how many more sits I'll get in before it closes down.

Dad came by in his way to his stand. Only action I've seen

Snow just started. 30 min for something to happen.

Donebar. I did see a vole burrowing through the snow.

    Time to go warm up!

Keep at it bud. You have plenty of months to recover from being burnt out. You'll regret it if you let it get to you with only 9 days to go.

Doesn't look like I'll be sitting out tonight, but probably tomorrow. My mom & sisters won't be leaving until later on this afternoon.

I really would like to sit out in the morning, but with morning temps of -16* & light breezes sending the windcill into the -25-30* range, I may wait for an afternoon sit.

I will be heading out soon to go check one (or both) of my cameras. I'd like to see if that little 10 pt is still hanging around:tu:

Gonna take a stab at a morning hunt. Headed South to the old cut. I'm hoping to catch that small 10 on his way in to bed.

Last 4 days of the seasonare here!
